My Review

I haven't read book one, and I think this hurt me. The story is great, but I know there are things that are important that I should have known going into this. With that said, the story is still great. A lot of guilt and brain racking goes on for past occurrences. I felt bad for Jacob and Emilia. And now with war coming and loved ones gone and missing, and I also sense a lot of past experiences that are hindering their relationship with each other.

Emilia is a strong woman, but she has a lot of guilt and things that plague her. She is now figuring out all the horrible things that happened, tortures, deaths, was caused by her own father. And Jacob's torture seems just as bad. Emilia's father kidnapped her, wanting her to force a binding with Dexter, her previous boyfriend. And on top of that, Dexter wasn't the good guy she thought he was. So, I learned that in his way of saving Emilia, when her father was trying to bind her to Dexter, Jacob accidentally becomes binded to her instead. Many complications right :) Their relationship is beautiful but still strained and struggling. I loved them both

Clair and Aunt Iz are great. And Conner is funny. And they are the survivors. And then there's the Centaurs. They are needed to protect Jacob and Emilia. Also, help them learn more about other magical people. Oh and then Emilia must find her mother. That's complicated as well. Things are getting crazy, magic is a little haywire, and finding someone who doesn't want to be found is never easy. And there's always problems and prices to pay when it comes to magical beings.

I loved the action and the plot line this book follows. The writing is fantastic. I really need to go back and read book one LOL This one is fast paced and kept me glued to the book. The world building is fantastic. I know that I'm missing things because I haven't read book one, but I can tell you that I'd still read this book, knowing, because it's really good. :) 5 PAWS!!
