Book Description:

These two sexy shapeshifters are playing to win.

Wendy isn't part of anyone's pack, not anymore. As a cop, she can handle anything, even getting rid of her evil ex. Too bad local werewolf alpha Brett has different ideas. He doesn’t care if Wendy wants to be a lone wolf. He has to protect all the wolves in his town. Including her. Especially her.

Wendy finds Brett irritating, overbearing and sexy beyond belief. Brett thinks Wendy is trouble with a capital T and hotter than the dog days of summer. Butting heads can be fun, but there are other ways to rub against each other. Intimate, lusty ways.

Excerpt

The sting when Brett, the big alpha of Boulder’s local packlands, popped her ass shocked Wendy down to the bone and she snarled, her inner wolf overcoming her inner cop in a fierce rush, everything in her reminding her that she wasn’t part of a pack. Any pack. The tiny burst of pain distracted her from the growing panic that she had been investigating the wrong perpetrators ever since the attack on Mike last night.
“You’re lucky I don’t have my sidearm on me, you fuck!” she snarled at Brett, teeth almost snapping at the air.
“I’m lucky? You probably would have drawn down on Stephanie here in the state you’re in if it wasn’t for me. I can fucking smell your panic.” Brett bared his teeth at her, growling, as if this was her fault.
“What’s going on?” Her best friend Stephanie was a sweetheart, a dear little wonder of witchiness, with her potions and rites and the constant scent of sage and rosemary. But some fights were for weres. Alone. And Steph wasn’t a werewolf.
“I don’t know, but she’s freaking out,” the big alpha said and casually shifted, moving halfway between her and Steph, separating them. That was a classic strategy, but she wasn’t a perp. She was here looking for evidence in Mike’s attack. Sweet, gentle EMT Mike, whose big crime had been taking Stephanie out on a date. Except that wasn’t the case, was it? This wasn’t about Stephanie. This was about Wendy and her past and the reason why she wasn’t part of a pack anymore.
“I am not freaking out!” Wendy caught herself yelling, that tiny bead of guilt growing since last night when she’d smelled something totally unexpected on Mike’s wound.
Not feral dogs, as the policeman in her had suspected. Not Stephanie’s jealous lovers, Shaw and Jordan, as the wolf in her had expected. No. She’d smelled the bastard who had been her worst nightmare, once upon a time.
“I don’t... Wendy? Honey?” Stephanie sounded so freaked out, stepping toward her.
“You just...” Wendy could feel panic creeping up inside her, and by the moon, that made her mad.
“Stop.” Brett barked, the command in the man’s voice undeniable, fierce.
Wendy rocked back on her heels and she fought the urge to howl. “I’m sorry.”
“Sorry for what?” Steph asked and came to her, hugged her tight, and damn, didn’t that make her feel worse? Wendy was the one who had accused Stephanie’s lovers of injuring Mike and now... “What’s wrong, honey? You can tell me.”
“I don’t know. I thought for sure I wouldn’t ever. This is all my fault.” Apologizing was hard. Wendy hated it.
“Nonsense.”  Stephanie sounded so sure.
“No. He followed me here. I can smell him now. I thought at the hospital I could, but it was so medicinal. He—” Jack was here. Jack, her crazy ex, had found her again, after so many years.
“He who?” Brett asked, voice sharp, getting right in her face. God, he was a fine son of a bitch, even if he didn’t know squat about her.
“It’s not your problem!” Wendy snapped, the guilt about Jack following her here, endangering others, making everything worse.
“My packlands, my problem.” Brett’s chest bumped into hers and she was reminded, rather forcefully, that wolf pack alphas were used to getting exactly what they wanted, the information they needed. Now.
“Guys. Guys, careful.” Stephanie started flailing, her panicky voice scraping along Wendy’s nerves like nails down a chalkboard. Brett grabbed Stephanie by the upper arms, shifting her away with surprisingly gentle hands.
“You’re an asshole. The goddamn alphas always are. I really need to find a town without a goddamn pack.” Wendy poked Brett in the chest with one finger, acting way braver than she felt.
Brett’s nostrils flared, then the man’s eyes went bright yellow. “Who is attacking people in my town?”
The scent of angry male hit her dead on, but it wasn’t Brett. It was another. Not right. Rotten and in wolf form. Jack.
“Shit!” Brett whirled before she even had a chance to respond, shifting to his own wolf form in a breath, and Wendy knew she knew she couldn’t hold onto her humanity.
“Wendy?” Steph backed away. “Wendy, oh Goddess.”
Wendy looked at her dearest friend in the whole world. Her oh so human friend. “Go, Steph. Run. You’re just going to get hurt if you stay. I’ll call you.”
The change took her in a rush, the world turning gray as she hit the ground on her paws, her clothes falling away as she spun to fight the violent bastard who was trying to ruin her life.
Brett barked, encouraging her to flank Jack as he attacked from the front, going immediately for Jack’s throat. Jack was wickedly smart, though, and deflected the blow, chasing after Stephanie instead.
No. No way.
No way.
They both gave chase, paws digging into the asphalt as they headed out.
Run! Run!

Book Description:

Some rules are meant to be bent.

Stephanie has three rules when it comes to her relationship with werewolves Shaw and Jordan—keep their lusty encounters casual, never invade each other’s space, and no biting. The boys have always seemed perfectly fine with all that, leaving her plenty of time to do her magick and keep her shop going.

When the local pack leader gives Jordan and Shaw an ultimatum—find a mate or find another city to live in—she finds she must rethink her rules or lose her lovers forever.

Jordan and Shaw hate having to ask their best friend Stephanie to help them find a mate, especially because she’s the hottest lover they’ve ever had, and they want her for themselves. The boys will have their hands full convincing Steph that rules are made to be broken, before it is too late.

Excerpt:

The smell of burned sage never got out of robes.

Never.

Stephanie shook the heavy ceremonial robe, the fabric soft in her hands, and sighed. Maybe it was time to take it to the dry cleaners. Obviously Woolite wasn’t doing it. She hung it over the back of her grandmother’s rocking chair. Tomorrow she would worry about the robe. Tonight the boys were coming over.

Tonight she’d be coming, over and over, if she was lucky.

Jordan and Shaw were worth shaving her legs for. They were worth all the fancy lotion she smeared on her body. They were...well, they were a force of nature.

She grabbed her broom and swept the floor, picking up the little bits of herb and candle wax and fur. Pyewacket was already in her spot atop the big wardrobe in the dining room that held Steph’s supplies, black tail hanging down.

A soft yowl sounded as she came close and she reached up, tweaked Wacky’s tail. “I know, sweet lady, but it’s almost the full moon, and Goddess knows I’m not getting any hot, hunky loving outside of the two of them.”

Wacky’s yellow eyes glowed in the dim light, seeming to tell her what an idiot she was. That cat was expressive, almost magically so.

“Two years and I get about four orgasms per full moon. That’s not bad for one night a month?” It was close to perfect, really. She got her freedom to work, update the website, create her spell kits and ship them out. The day before the full moon she saved for her best boys.

They were horny then, and they put aside their worries about the pack to come to her. They worried about their pack a lot, apparently. She was like their mother confessor a little.

Which, okay, whoa. Not sexy, with the holster hips and the penguin-outfit thing.

No, today was tight jeans and a tank top, a see-through shimmery top in the same color as her eyes, deep and dark. Hrm…but they loved her in green, though she teased them about dogs being color blind. Oh, the green sundress. She loved that and it was easy access.

Wacky yowled again and she chuckled, stroking the puffy tail on her way by. “I’m making them steaks, of course. They’re bringing dessert. You, lady, are getting tuna so you can hide in the library.”

Tuna for her cat, a nice long shower for her, then sizzle the steaks on either side for her boys.

It was a good plan.

* * * *

“Do you think she’ll help?”

Jordan stared at the dessert case, trying to decide between spice cake and those eclair thingees. He ignored Shaw’s question as best he could, not wanting to think about what they were about to ask Steph to do.

“Are you listening to me? Do you think she’ll do it?” Shaw was one hell of a puppy some days, bouncing and moving constantly. Jordan wanted to snap at Shaw’s ear.

“I don’t know. Eclairs?” They were going to ask their lover to find them a mate who wasn’t her. Why would she help?

“I like eclairs. She likes the ones with chocolate.” Shaw looked closer. “Can I have pecan pies?”

“Only if you don’t pass out after we all fuck and leave me to talk to her alone.” Such. A. Pup.

“I won’t!”

The little girl behind the counter gasped, turned bright red, and Shaw’s head ducked.

“Sorry, honey.” Jordan smiled a little, not wanting to bare his teeth. “We need two eclairs, a spice cake and two of the pecan pies.”

“Sure. Do you want any cookies? We have snickerdoodles.”

Snickerdoodles. Wow.

“No. No more sugar for this one.” He jerked his thumb at Shaw.

“Hey!” Bright green eyes flashed up at him from under the unruly shock of big red hair.

“I’m getting you pies.” He popped Shaw’s ass, loving that squeak.

They got another wide-eyed look from the little girl behind the counter. Wow. Wow. He had to watch his damn mouth. He was just so fucking horny, this time of the month. He could just toss Shaw down and fuck him raw. Thing was, that wouldn’t sate him. He needed Steph, too.

There was something about the pair of them—her sweet body, wrapped around his cock while Shaw took her mouth. Or Shaw’s ass working him while he watched his lover lick Steph’s creamy...

He groaned, and Shaw stared at him, sporting an amazing hard-on and a look of pure lust. Damn it.

They were never going to manage to just talk to her. Never. They needed her help, though.

“We need to go.” Shaw’s voice was pure rumble, very little human.

“Get it together, baby.” It was just stress. The moon coming. That shit.

“Here you go.” The girl handed over the bag with the pastry, pulling her hand back as though they might bite her.

He didn’t even bother handing her the cash, leaving it on the counter to give the poor girl space. “Keep the change, honey.”

“Thanks.” Jordan grabbed Shaw and dragged him out.

“Teasing asshole. Fuck, I smell you.”

“Hush.” They needed to stop revving up, at least until they got in the truck. They were going to embarrass themselves.

“Uh-huh.” Shaw bounced a little bit, the shithead. Jordan had to wonder whether Nyla had given him espresso this morning.

“I mean it, Shaw. I’ll tie you up when we get to Steph’s.” That made his pup crazy, being forced to be still.

“You won’t.” Shaw groaned, almost rubbed against him.

“I will, baby. I’ll make you scream.”

As crazy making as Shaw was, his sweet mate could make his mouth dry, make him ache for it. He loved that boy to distraction. He reached over and touched Shaw’s thigh.

The lean muscles jerked and jumped, shifted under his fingers, even the cloth of Shaw’s jeans not hiding the movement. Shaw’s cock pressed hard against the zipper, and Jordan had to fight the urge to open those jeans and take that hardness into his hand.

“I hope she’s ready for us.” Shaw panted, licked his lips. “I want you.”

“I want you, baby. I want both of you. I can’t wait to strip you down and do you while you lick her.” He wanted to just grab Shaw by the hair and fuck that pretty mouth. Christ, his hands were shaking.

“I could suck you, now, before we get there. I so could.”

“No.” No, they had to wait. It was important not to dilute the sex magick. Steph had taught them that. They would need every drop, so to speak.

“Asshole.” Shaw gave him a low, pouty growl.

“You want this to work, baby?” He finally handed the bag of pastry to Shaw and got the truck going.

“I don’t know...” Shaw sighed, fastened his seat belt, eyes facing out the window, watching the Rockies. “I don’t want to lose her. I like Steph.”

“I know, baby.” He didn’t want to end their friendship with Steph, either, but the pack was breathing down their neck. They were supposed to be good little wolves and settle down.

“If we find her, our mate I mean, it’ll be good, right? We won’t care that we’re losing Steph?”

Well, Steph had always made it clear that this was just fun and games, hadn’t she? Three buds hanging out, drinking beer, sharing orgasms? They even watched football together. Besides, she knew what they were, knew they couldn’t mate with someone for life who wasn’t one of them.

He smacked Shaw’s shoulder, just a little too hard. “It’ll be cool. We’ll be stupid in love and wanting to make puppies.”

Right?

Right.

My Review

Such a fun little sexy romance. A witch between two sexy shifters lol. So like the blurb, you know Jordan and Shaw need a mate. And Steph is a witch who has been their lover for years. But when they literally blow up everything by asking Steph to find them a mate- and the way they did it was HORRIBLE- it back fires. Steph does exactly what's asked and then shuts them out. She's broken hearted and they seem lost and sad. Needless to say, they are all hard headed!

Shaw is super hot, cute, sweet and literally like a puppy. Jordan is Gruffer and more dominant and hot in a rugged way. Steph is fun and has funny cats! Their names cracked me up!! And then Steph decided to take her life into her own hands. Well Jordan and shaw aren't happy and then when something bad happens, the alpha and the cops get involved too.

If you're looking for a sexy steamy paranormal romance with some fun supernatural mystery squeezed in you'll love this one! I've read a couple of this author's books and they are always fun. Now I'd like to see Wendy and Brett's story next!! Or maybe mike! :) 5 PAWS!!

Book Description:

Orphaned and scared, these cubs need an Alpha…and so do their caregivers.
Cast out of their wolf pack, Jock and Gus are skinny and wild but surviving okay out in the Colorado mountains. Winter is on its way, and Gus isn’t sure what they can do to stay warm and fed. To add to their problems, they’ve adopted a litter of abandoned wolf cubs, and suddenly there’s not enough food to go around.

Archer, a forest ranger and Alpha wolf, finds Jock and Gus in time to save them from Jack Frost, and from themselves. The moment he meets the two young males, he wants them, and he sets out to convince them to stay. Jock understands that Archer is what they need, but Gus intends to fight Archer every step of the way. He has to—it’s in his genes.

Can Archer keep this new family safe, from the elements and each other?

Excerpt:

Archer Tyson smelled the shallow grave before he saw it.
The narrow trench had been dug carefully, and rocks and brush covered what was left of the she-wolf, but the fact remained that she was dead, and there was evidence of a trap-death on the carcass.
Damn it all. This didn’t look like poachers, who would have wanted the coat. Maybe the head. No cabins or livestock this far up the mountain, so he had to assume this was malicious. A wolf hater. That always meant a lot of work for him as one of the two rangers who covered this plot of land.
Not to mention that when a wolf died on his watch, Archer took it pretty personally.
It made him a little toothy and more than a bit pissed off. The urge to sniff around and see if he could follow a scent trail to the killer was strong, but Archer was on the clock right now. The best he could do for this poor girl was mark the grave with a locator so he could find it again later and make a report.
He sighed, whispering a soft prayer in his native tongue for her, which okay, sounded more like moaning and groaning than words, but whatever.
Another scent hit him when he moved away from the makeshift grave, and Archer tilted his head. No. Pups?
Where were they? He sniffed again. They’d been here and been… taken.
A low growl rose in his chest, and Archer wanted to howl with rage. Was that what this was about? Wolves weren’t fucking pets, and no one should be killing momma wolves to take their cubs.
He started tracking, every sense tuned to searching out this motherfucker.
No, his wolf told him. These. Two. Two scents. Two males. Damn it. He started along their trail, which might as well have been cut with a weed whacker.
His radio squawked, distracting him. “Archer. Can you read, over?”
“I hear you, Ben.” He was busy, damn it.
“We got a small brush fire over at Lizard Head. All hands on deck. What’s your twenty?”
“That’s a haul, man. I’m near Whitehouse, and I have a poacher situation.”
“Okay. I’ll call you in if we need you. Hang tight, over.”
“Ten four. Over.” Shoo. He had puppies to find. Wolf cubs. Christ, what a mess. He didn’t need this shit.
He followed the scent, slowing as the smells became damn near overwhelming. The two males started to make his nose twitch. They didn’t have the sour, greedy smell of poachers, or the hyped-up adrenaline scent of hunters.
No, if anything this scent was sweet, sexual, tinged with a dull hunger, a hint of worry.
He peered around a bend in the trail, finding two men, shaggy and skinny and utterly underdressed for the late autumn chill, sleeping in the afternoon sun around a pile of three cubs.
Oh. The totally unexpected sight made him smile. Look at that; the pups already trusted these two. There was no way they’d killed the mom. One of the men, the older by the looks of it, started sniffing, nose working hard.
Wait.
Wait, were they… Could they be like him? Archer thought that was impossible, but no human would be able to scent him from this location.
Dark eyebrows lowered, and the man woke up, nudging the blond. “Jock, babe, someone’s here. Get the babies into the tent.”
Without a question, the blond got the pups moving, growling and nudging on all fours. The cubs obeyed, falling over their big feet.
Once they were safely tucked away in the tent, Archer stepped into the clearing. “I won’t hurt anyone. I’m with the Forest Service.”
“We’re fine. Thanks. We got a permit.” The blond was pushed behind, just a little, the darker wolf trying to make himself big. All teeth and puffy chest.
Adorable.

My Review

This is not my usual review genre but I figured this time, I'd give it a try. And it was pretty interesting. This book starts out the series and had an intriguing idea behind it. The characters are well developed and has some great growth with them as well. And overall I really liked it.

Gus is the alpha of the pack, to start. He's your typical alpha, protective, a little rough around the edges. Jock is like a puppy, seriously, he's easily entertained and so happy and laid back. They are both lacking a true alpha and leader and have some maturing to do. But I loved that they took in the wolf pups. It showed that even immature they have a great heart and room to grow. And then they meet Archer. Archer is sweet and considerate and full of love. He's the true alpha really. And even though he took charge, he did it so well, not over bearing or tyrant.

I loved the werewolf part of the book which is what made me pick it up. Especially if gay paranormal romance is what you're looking for. I would have really liked some more background info on each of the characters. How they at least became who they are now. And I will say, the romance is pretty hot. And I look forward to seeing them all grow and where the author will take this. 4 PAWS!!
