Personal Apocalypse: A World Without End novel

Josiah grew up in a dying world. The Holdout survived, but when you are the son of Sylvia Cragen, you give up delusions early. He knew that they would die bloody--it wasn't a matter of if. Only when.
Parker shouldn't be alive. He should have died long before scouts from the Last Holdout rescued him. And he knows better than to believe that sailing away from the safety of the Holdout is a good idea.
Now, without the Holdout to protect them, all of his nightmares are coming true. Josiah is just crazy enough to believe that a fresh start is a good thing. But Parker has lived as prey, hunted by zombies and survivors before--and he knows that no one really survives. In the wild, zombie claimed world outside the walls of safety, there is only the dead walking.

EXCERPT:

Nightfall comes quickly and settles over the hotel with a shuddering silence that chills me. Finn and Ren are back, and he’s sure that no one else is lurking nearby. But we don’t really know that. Our houseguest is watching with that faint, damning smile that tells me we’re missing something. I just wish I could figure out what the f*ck it is.
As night falls, she comes alert, still and stiff in her chains, with a bright-eyed stare as she looks out the window, into the night time.
That’s when the night comes to life.
I’m used to the sounds of the Holdout---the crash of the waves, and the low murmur of life, the hiss of snakes and splash of gators in the swamps that border our tiny home. The lazy hum of bugs in the air so thick it’s like a physical thing.
And I’m even used to the noise of our boat. Finn’s low rumble and Ren’s sharp laugh and sarcastic humor. Parker’s quiet voice that is the backbone for all of the important things in my life. The sound of the water against the hull, and the creak of the boards and the lines, the rattle of rigs and weapons and the whistle of the wind as we slept.
But nothing. Nothing. Could prepare me for the wildness of Africa at night.

My review

This author writes so many types of fun books and she never disappoints!! When the world as we know it ends, Josiah and Parker, who are very different and yet fighting for the same thing- survival and to live. Jo- I nick name characters a lot- his upbringing and back ground mask him feel insecure and always trying to prove something. Parker is more of your wilder survivalist. Seriously- if I were there I'd want him on my side though he's rough around the edges. And even with their differences they become friends. You get both POVs and it made for such an interesting read because of that. And yes we have zombie but let me tell you- it's not like any you've ever read. Mini won't tell you and spoil it but I sure thought it was cool.

I like this author's writing style and though a good part of the book is explanations and word building, you have to do this. If you end the world, there's gotta be some changes. I ended up liking both guys for different reasons. I am totally going to recommend this to zombie fans but I'm also going to recommend to to post apocalyptic fans as well. This one is too cool and creative not too!! Well done! It's been a while since I've enjoyed a zombie tale! 5 PAWS!!

THE BLOOD SCION Blurb:

I was just a reporter, trying to stay ahead of my student loans. I knew the rules, and I followed them.
I thought I knew how the world worked—humans lived their petty little lives in the safety of the sun. We loved and fought and—when the sun sank—we scurried behind our walls and lived in fear. That is when the monsters came out to play.
And even in the safety of the sun, we knew who ruled us.
The Houses. And their Scions.
Everyone knows the great Houses and their Scions—they are feared and loved and hated and envied. They are the gods who walk the shadows and rule all of our lives. They are salvation and death.
And somehow, I am one of them.

My review!

Well, I can't believe I'm saying this but I love a vamper! It's been a while since a vampire has had my good side but there's actually two in here!! After reading the prequel, I knew I would love Octavian but I find I love Sculla in this one, as well. He made me giggle while Tavian made me swoon. And of course they are hawt pieces!! And it's about to get complicated because Farley is not just any human, she's a human to be a scuon but was raised by humans with limited knowledge of the vampire world and she's supposed to save them. Goodness!

The characters are all fantastically written. While Jule, Marcus, August, Winston, and Patrolclus are side characters, they were just as well written as our main characters, Sculla, Octavian, and Farley. Now don't panic, I'm saying names and I don't think there will be any love triangles to come. But I loved to hate Jules and Marcus, with Winston and Patroclus being the more stoic serious kids, Sculla and August making me giggle and roll my eyes, and I was just begging for Ovtavian and Farley to make out!! Lol I know, it's just me.

The writing is fantastic, as always, I love how the writer can suck you in. I don't like vampires but I love this author so that should tell you how good her skills are!! The bad guys, the HRO, well, it's the human monsters that sometimes cause the most damage. I am so looking forward to more of this series! Ms Andrews has another great one for her list of accomplishments!! Well done! 5 PAWS!

Twelve Houses. Twelve vampire lines. We ruled from the shadows, and manipulated the world, and when humans came too close to destruction, we intervened.
Every House has a Scion. A fragile, easily broken human that stood shoulder to shoulder with the house Princes and Princesses.
Except for ours. The Ravens, House Cantelie.
We've been without a Scion for almost fifteen years.
But that will change...and her life will be mine to protect.

My Review

Strictly from Octavian's POV this gives you the backstory everyone loves to know. The whys and the who's and the what's it's! I love his voice and I am totally looking forward to how Farley is going to take this surprise since she has no idea about any of it. And I think I'll enjoy Sculla! 5 PAWS!!

Announcement from Nazarea Andrews:

TWWE_Announc

Since RUIN OF THE WORLD released (actually since before that) I've been hearing over and over that people wanted more zombies.

But Ren and Finn's story was over. They needed to be over.
Buuuuut.
There was a character. Two characters. And they were incredibly noisy.
And the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to know--what happened to Josiah and Park that led them to leave the Holdout? What shaped them? And--most importantly--what happened after they did?
So.
You guys are getting more zombies.
Let's talk about what this means--
1. At the moment, I'm planning two books. The first will release next year (2016)
2. This is about Park and Josiah, they will be the POV characters.
3. Finn and Nurrin may show up, but I don't promise that and they are not the main characters. Their story is still over.
4. I adore Siah and Park. So so much. I can't wait to share them with you.

So that's it!! My big news! I'll be releasing teasers and whatnot about the boys in the next few months but until then. Add them on Goodreads and be excited--more zombies and snark is headed your way. <3

CHASING THE WIND Synopsis:

Kaida grew up in two worlds--a child in the Manor raised by Sabah before she was granted Citzenship. But the only place she has ever felt like she's belonged is with Cedric and Guin, the boys she grew up with.

When Cedric's involvement in a rebel faction goes wrong, the Commission exiles her and holds Guin hostage. Now, she's on her own for the first time, and searching for the sister who left her behind and a princess who was stolen from the City--and then she stumbles across a face from the past.

Hawke has been an outcast since his Tribe died. When he finds Sabah's sister on the road, he agrees to help her. But as they search the wilds and grow closer, his disdain for her is slowly replaced by a deep attraction for the girl who faces every challenge so bravely.

And as the City's deadline dwindles, and the boy she loves hangs in the balance, Hawke is left to wonder if he is protecting her, or if he the biggest threat she will face.

My Review

I haven't read the first book in the series... This may have hurt me a little, but I still think this was a cool book. This author has a talent for making you feel so deeply for the characters. I've read another book by her, and I must say, she is holding up to the expectations I've had. I'm impressed. This book follows Cedric, Kaida, and Guin. And Hawke. Yeah...

This is a fascinating story. It's rough, it's gritty, it's heart wrenching, but it feels so real. And I'm torn, because I loved Hawke, but I loved Guin and Cedric too. Yeah, I don't think I can talk about all that. And though it seemed to take forever, among my anticipation and annoyance, for Kaida to figure it out. And yes, there's a good plot behind the romance side. It's a struggle and a race for Kaida to save herself and everyone it seems.

The writing is very well done. It's fast paced and full of many categories. I really do like the way this author writes. So, with that said, I need to go backwards and read book one, and then I want to see how I feel about some of the characters then. :) 4.5 PAWS !!

My Review

So, wow. I was not expecting so much dark, gritty, heartbreak. And who knew that people could fall in love with their captives. I won't lie, this is not your light and easy read. This is serious, completely heartwrenching. You see, if you were stolen, tortured, sold into slavery, across space, you wouldn't get a happy day either. I mean, I LOVED this story, and I can say this is a phenomenally written, fantastic story. And I'm a little devastated with that little cliff hanger. Goodness, I am dying to know what's going to happen after that epic ending.

So we start with the twins. They are happy, carefree, life loving siblings. And then Chosi and Juhan, yes I called them nick names, are Taken. This happens to their people. They are stolen from their home planet, taken into slavery, sold, to different owners. I thought this was going to be the horrible part. I mean it is. It's a terrible thing to live through. But it's  not the worst. You see, on one end, Chosi is beaten and tortured into a kind of submission. She lives in a horrible world where everyone my fight to survive as well as follow the rules of some horrible people. I mean, seriously, I wanted to kill a whole lot of people on her end. But then she finds friends and love and a caring team. Oh she's not out of the woods, because even in the end, she's still in chains, they just aren't visable. I loved her fight. I loved her rebellious nature. She is going to survive, no matter what she has to endure.

The other end has Juhan. He has the more posh life of slavery. He's the consort of a politician's daughter. He gets fancy clothes. But he also gets his fair share of torture. Some physical, but a lot mental and emotional. I won't lie, he gets the lighter side of the book. But he's the one who will have the dark side come the next book after everything that happened in the end. He's the more submissive calmer sibling. It's different, as twins are usually yin and yang. He completes Chosi. It's a wonderful bond they have together.

This is a story that will grab you from the beginning. It will keep you on your seat. It won't let go. It will break you a little and have you in tears. Then it's going to drop your jaw and have you praying for the next book to hurry itself up. I mean, I about lost it with this book. I have read some dark things, but this one, had me so emotionally involved. I am astounded at how well the author conveyed what she needed to get across. I can't tell you things other than you should read this book. And dragons. I freaking love dragons. And awesome sauce. And I can't believe I have to wait. I need book two LIKE NOW!! GIMME!!!!!! 5 DRAGONS PAWS!!
