My Review

WOW!! I am so freaking impressed right now. So here we go- Tiger has spent his entire life in a prison slash medical ward. Until he almost dies escaping.  He has a little help but I can't tell you. I loved the mystery of this part but that help sends him to Kristina. She's a small town farm girl who goes on an adventure with Tiger to stay away from those who will do anything to get him back!

Tiger is so precious. Ok so think about it, if you never experienced the outside world, ever, you'd have some stunted maturity and some ignorance and sheltering. So watching Tiger was fascinating!! And to see his relationship with Kristina develop was just so awesome!  I won't lie he's seriously swoon worthy but not for what most people would think of. He's so innocent and truthful and it's almost sad but I totally wish he'd give lessons. Lol and I'd love for other guys to pay attention. Kristina was a great addition and made this book so much more.

This author does a fantastic job with this story. Great characters, great plot, fascinating mystery and some awesome suspense. I also think the supernatural twist was brilliantly done! I loved it all! 5 PAWS!!

Secrets of the Moon by Kristy Centeno!

Secrets of the Moon (The Secrets of the Moon saga, #1)

Book Description:
Teenager Marjorie Emery eluded death. As she struggles to get her life back on track, she believes her efforts are paying off. Yet, when a black dressing, unfriendly, and incredibly handsome hottie walks into her classroom, she’s forced into a tailspin. Marjorie has no idea how much his presence is going to shatter what little tranquility she’s achieved.
Kyran Rousseau’s gloomy nature has a name, one that is potentially fatal under the right circumstances. His family harbors secrets and does everything to protect Kyran. While, he does’t want to ruin Marjorie’s normal life, love has a way of changing his plans.
Falling for Kyran is the least of Marjorie’s worries. With a faceless threat hunting her and a boyfriend who's as dangerous as he is good looking—how can Marjorie and Kyran keep all hell from breaking loose before it’s too late?

Excerpt:

The bat connected with something solid, and a soft grunt escaped the man’s lips, followed by a soft oath that would’ve put even the meanest of sailors to shame.

“Are you trying to kill me? What the hell are you doing?”

Wait just a second, I know that voice.

“Kyran? Kyran!” I couldn’t believe my eyes. He really was standing there, clad in nothing but a pair of jeans.

“Are you trying to behead me?” His expression was one of puzzlement and anger combined.

“I was, actually.” He rubbed his forearm vigorously and I deduced that was where the bat made contact. Boy, I had the worst aim ever. How did I manage to hit his arm when I was aiming for his head?

“Why?” he snapped.

That did it. That tone he used infuriated me all over again. “Oh, hold on just a second here. I should be asking all the questions, not you. What the hell are you doing roaming around my house in the middle of the night anyway? What kind of sick pervert are you?”

“This isn’t your house. Haven’t you noticed we’re in the middle of the woods?” God, I wanted to slap him so bad.

“The hell we are! This is my father’s land and you’re trespassing.” He scoffed, and I had the sudden urge to go for a second blow. This close, I was pretty confident I would make a crude indentation in his skull.

“Do you enjoy peeping at other people? Is that, like, something you get off on?”

Had I not been so angry, I would’ve laughed at his expression. His face registered shock, disbelief, and surprise all at once.

“No! I’m not that kind of person,” he barked.

My Review
Well now, this is such an interesting story!! I love werewolf stories and this is no exception! A great plot line with fascinating lore and a little twist of the not so nice kind :) and oh, some great characters!! :) plus HAWT accents lol :)

Marjorie Emery was in a car crash with her friends. She and them made stupid decisions and now she's paying a price. road. She and her friends came out alive,  but not everyone came out ok. Now, a year later, this is where the story really starts! There's a foreign new family who's moved into town and one brother has majorly taken an interest. The back then Marjorie was popular and carefree. The now Marjorie is strict and a little more uptight. Plus she has the friend who blames her for the accident. But the new family, their gunna open a whole can of worms for Marjorie and I'm not so sure she's prepared for it!

Kyran is quiet, reserved, serious, sometimes a jerk. Alexis is his twin and polar opposite. You'll figure out why just like Marjorie but not too soon. I loved this little twist because not everything can be easy. When things start going bad, animals horribly mutilated, people missing, crimes occurring, things are starting to add up and Kyran can't hide everything form Marjorie. Especially since the bad guys are taking their own look at her.

The characters are my favorite. They are just awesome! Kyrans family, Marjorie's friends, her parental situation and cute siblings. My dislike is the lack of complete outrage and devastation to the horrible things. Dude my animals are my life, I would lose my mind!!! Also, I wanna know who the bad guy is!!! Lol :) but thank goodness there's another book. And one more time- why do girls have to be stupid. Oh let me follow the monster who just killed my horse into the woods. Oh let me go outside by myself when I know bad guys are stalking me. Ummm let me just slap her several times for that and maybe I'll get over her stupidity. Seriously!! I live on a farm- that don't happen!! Not like that! Hahaha sorry just my little rant!

I really liked the writing and I love the creation of werewolves and the little loophole of crazy :) the characters are complex and that makes them real- I know girls like Marjorie and Tracy and the others :) I also see there being an almost love triangle and I'm not sure how that's gunna play out. I sense some things but I'm gunna read book two before I comment on a team :) and the bad guys-- I have a serious idea but I'm also holding out. This book is great and I absolutely love the creepy feel! I can't wait for more!! 5 CREEPTASTIC WOLFY PAWS!!

Bound to the Moon by Kristy Centeno!

Bound to the Moon (The Secrets of the Moon saga, # 2)

Book Description:
For me…
....immortality is a curse....release is an impossibility...and love is the one thing I cannot have.
Forbidden or not, I am determined to save my only ray of hope, regardless of what it'll cost me.
The moment I met Marjorie I knew she was the one thing I couldn’t have, but that didn’t stop us from bonding. The problem is I’m as much of a threat to her as the alpha hunting her down.
Now that I’m fighting against the clock to save her from an invading pack, I realize the only way to protect her from danger—including myself—is by letting her go. But will my sacrifice be in vain? Can I let her go knowing she’s the only one that can save me?

If you missed the first stop for book one, you can find it HERE!

Excerpt:

There’s something very regal about the elder tracker, but I’m not sure why that is. One look at him and I know he’s lived far longer than any other wolf I’ve ever met, including those of my own bloodline. He’s even older than Bray. I have no doubt his height and bulkiness is used as intimidating tools often.

He commands respect as well. He may not be of royal blood but he’s one adversary I would not think lightly about crossing the wrong way.

“Is the girl that important to you that you’d cross us in such a disrespectful way?”

I take a step forward. “I don’t care who you are. If you’re here to threaten Marjorie in any way, I won’t hesitate to kill you. Descendant of royal blood or not.”

Shocked, Simone pulls on my arm. “Kyran! Please! Don’t provoke them.” I can understand her panic. We’re outnumbered and even though normally this isn’t a problem for us, these aren’t betas. They’re worthy opponents. Royal Trackers and a descendant of a King wolf. It would take only one of them to take us both down.

Far from appearing offended, Bray simply smiles. The wolf he called by the name of Bayard, isn’t as amused. He stares back at me as if wishing he could tear me to pieces.

“A word of advice, Kyran.” Bray reaches into his pants pocket and removes a folded piece of paper, which he holds out to me. “If you really want to save Marjorie, take her away from this place. Take her as far away as you can think of and leave no trail for the wolves in the area to follow.”

 My Review
Well I totally love this series. This one felt short but I think it's cuz I zoomed through it :) I've been dying to know more and what's been happening since all the torture happened. And the totally favorite part if this one for me-- since Marj is stuck in the hospital healing, we get the whole POV from Kyran. We are finally learning more about who he is, how he feels, what goes through his head and his body with his curse. I loved this a lot!

There's some crazy things going on. Everyone is trying to figure out a way to protect Marjorie while defeating the rogues. It's intense. And then there's a twist with a new character that reveals a whammy! This is going to open a whole new can of scary worms!

I know I still have to wait to hear more but I'm ok! I really like this series :) the writing is great and there's a fun way the author has twisted things as well as keeping things fresh and new. I can't wait for more!! Gimme!!! 5 WOLFY paws!!

Payback is Sweet Tour w Giveaway!

Red Moon Book Tours

Payback is Sweet (Love Gamble Series, #1)

Book Description:
Janessa Rowe is a twenty one year old college girl with
little respect for other people. She’s a rich, spoiled brat of a girl who gets
her kicks out of humiliating others. When she discovers that her boyfriend of
three years has in fact engaged in a physical relationship with someone else,
Janessa will stop at nothing to get a little payback. Even if that means using
her new rival’s disgruntled fiancée to get what she wants.
Dakota Blackwater is everything Janessa is not. He’s kind,
sweet, gentle, and a stand-up guy all in all, but when his girlfriend’s
betrayal hurts more than his pride, he agrees to take part in a plan that will
test both their self-restraints and their feelings for one another.
Problems arise, however, when Janessa’s interest for Dakota
shifts from being a pawn to achieve her ultimate goal, to potential lover.
After having her heart broken in the past, the last thing she wants is to get
involved in matters of the heart, but how can she follow through with her plan
when the more time she spends with Dakota, the less she cares about getting
payback? Sooner rather than later they are forced to confront the reality that
their game has slowly transformed into something else and that what seemed like
a scheme to exact revenge, now comprises both their hearts in ways neither of
them anticipated.

Excerpt:

Shaking his head as if to clear it of unpleasant
thoughts, Dakota gulped down the remainder of my beer. I watched as some of the
liquid dribbled down his chin and though I would deny it to end if anyone asked
me, I felt the sudden itch to reach up and lick the golden liquid off of his
skin with my tongue. I so desperately wanted to know what his skin tasted like
and the powerful urge was strong enough to force my insides to grow heated just
thinking about it.

Whoa! What the hell? What am I thinking? It’s the
lack of a sex life. Yeah, that has to explain my perverted thoughts.

My cheeks burning, I opted for distracting myself
by looking away before I ended up embarrassing us both. Having inappropriate
thoughts about my companion wasn’t going to help either or us. Sure, he was
attractive in his own way. He was tall and well-built. His face was perfectly
sculpted with high cheek bones, a pair of full lips, and hawk like nose, which
only added to his allure. Regardless whether he was my type or not, at that
moment, I found him more than just a little interesting.

He was downright hot.

Author Interview

1.      First, tell me a little about your book and why you wanted to write this particular story….
Payback is Sweet is basically about a young, rich, spoiled-brat of a girl that feels the need to exact revenge on her boyfriend of three years after she catches him in the act—literally.
I wanted to write this book, which is the first book in the Love Gamble series, because I wanted to create a character that has to have a lot of emotional growth and maturing to do after specific events. Janessa, in her selfishness, refuses to see that the world does not revolve around her. In her need to get the best of others at all times she doesn’t realize her decisions are not always the best ones and in the end not only does she end up hurting others, but herself as well.
Trying to venture outside of my comfort zone, which is usually the paranormal genre, I definitely wanted to move past vampires and werewolves and stay in the contemporary world. With Payback is Sweet, I do exactly this plus a little more.

2.      Do you recall how your interest in writing originated or did you always just know?
I have always known. Ever since I can remember, I have always had an interest in books and writing. I used to write my stories in notebooks and notepads growing up. My brothers were my designated proofreaders.

3.      What inspired you to write your first book and what was it?
My first book, Secrets of the Moon, was inspired by my love for werewolves. It started out as a YA/Paranormal Romance novel, but it has swiftly turned into a time-consuming project with two more installments due to be released this year and at least two more in the works right now. But I love writing so I can’t complain—not that I would want to.

4.      Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Some are. Some I make up. It all depends on the storyline and the characters themselves.

5.      Out of all the characters in your book, who is your favorite to write? There’s always a fan favorite to read about but sometimes it’s the side characters that are the most fun J
Okay, I wasn’t going to admit this but since you asked…I’ll let you in on my secret. For Payback is Sweet, my favorite character, is Dean McCarthy. Although in this book he’s only a side character, mentioned a handful of times, in the next book he has a more permanent appearance.

6.      How did you come up with the lead character(s)?
Janessa’s character is what really started the whole concept for the book in the first place. Even before I started the first chapter I knew what she’d be like and what she would look like. The rest of the characters, including Dakota took some brainstorming. I knew I wanted someone Janessa could easily fall for. Someone sweet and honesty, and above all, trustworthy. Someone who could win her over without even trying. When it came to his physical appearance I had to give this much more thought.
Initially, I wanted Dakota to be much more attractive than I ended up making him, but I realized he had to be the type of guy who could win someone as self-centered as Janessa without having to be an absolute stud. It was all about what’s inside—please tell me this doesn’t sound too cliché—because that’s what should be important in a relationship and not what the person looks like.

7.      Is your book part of a series, and if so, how many will there be?
Yes. Payback is Sweet is the first in the Love Gamble series. There will be two more books. Book 2 is already with the publisher. I don’t have a release date as of yet.

8.      What are you working on now?
At the moment I’m currently working on finishing the Secrets of the Moon saga. I’m on book 4 right now and I hope to be done with it very, very soon.

9.      How do you chose when/which characters die in your books?
I haven’t killed any characters as of yet.

1
1 If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your book?
No. I realize some readers may not understand the concept behind the story, but I am satisfied with how the book turned out.
1

17.  We all love Supernatural, so which Winchester brother is for you?
Oh, wow. That is one of my favorite shows of all time, but I can’t pick out a Winchester brother. Sorry, but I’m seriously crushing on both of them.

18.  Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Thank you so much for your support and your honest critique. Every one of your inputs helps me take a second look at what I’ve done wrong and improve even more.
19.  This or that...
A.    Coffee addict?
Most definitely. I can’t function in the morning unless I have a cup of hot Joe.
B.     What’s your favorite alcoholic beverage?
I don’t drink.
C.     Favorite Food?
Pasta.
D.    If you had to chose Coffee or Chocolate? –don’t laugh, I don’t like chocolate so it’s quite easy for me, but a LOT of people NEED both LOL
Coffee all the way. Although, I do like chocolate too so this was a tough one for me to choose.
E.     Beach or mountains?
Mountains.
F.      Winter or summer?
Winter.
G.    vampires or werewolves?
Oh, wow. Do I really have to choose? I love both.
H.    Cold or hot?
Depends on what we’re talking about.
I.       Favorite color?
Blue.
J.       Night or day?
Night.
K.    Moonlight or sunlight?
Moonlight.
L.     Bad boy or good guy next door?
Um, another tough one. If I could have both wrapped up in one package that would be great.

Ok, that’s enough! LOL thanks so much for coming visit me, and thanks so much, for doing this with us! I appreciate it and I look forward to the next time!
