Gambling on her Bear by Anna Lowe!

Diamond thief falls for bear shifter security chief. What could possibly go wrong?

Dragon shifter Karen Proulx is in Vegas to hunt down a diamond, not a mate. But the minute she lays eyes on the brown-eyed bear of her dreams, everything changes.

Bear shifter Tanner Lloyd is a man on a mission to save his home town. He doesn’t have time for a wild ride with the beguiling woman who turns his world upside down — especially one who’s half witch and a mortal enemy of his clan. But how can he resist the call of destiny, the pull of desire?

A zany paranormal romance with adult content — not to mention vampires, showgirls, a card-dealing panther, and much more!

This is the standalone sequel to Gambling on Her Dragon.

An excerpt...

“You are as trying as ever, my dear,” Schiller sighed in that aristocratic Eastern European accent of his. The vampire tapped his long, perfectly manicured fingernails on the glass surface of the chest-high cocktail table beside him. Slowly, thoughtfully.
“Dragons don’t try,” Karen retorted, echoing one of her grandfather’s favorite lines. “We succeed.”
“And this is your definition of success?” Schiller pointed to the security guards cutting off every avenue of escape.
Okay, so her diamond heist hadn’t gone exactly to plan. She’d figure something out…eventually.
“The night is young.” She shrugged.
“That it is, my dear,” the vampire said, eyeing her neck.
A low, gritty sound came from her left, and though she didn’t dare look, she could sense Tanner bristling at her side. He was barely holding back an open growl — and barely holding back his inner bear, judging by the feral scent wafting off his broad shoulders.
Tanner. Part of her had melted the second she’d spotted the burly bear shifter. And damn it, most of her had melted when he’d touched her, because some kind of crazy heat shield started up whenever he came close, cocooning the two of them from the outside world. His deep brown eyes promised her everything, even if his face gave away nothing. The man was a mystery. An enigma. A riddle she had never been able to puzzle out.
But damn, she sure would like to keep trying.
Her dragon hummed deep inside. Like for the next century or two.
Did bears even live that long? She had no idea. It was rather a moot point, given the vampires looming all around them. And anyway, Tanner was a jerk, right? He hadn’t shown up to their second date, for starters. And worse, it seemed that Tanner worked for Schiller. What kind of self-respecting shifter did that?
But there was something hidden deep in his eyes that said, Wait. Please. Wait until I can explain.

My Review

I love this author! She writes so many awesome things!! And this is just another one of those awesome books. So Karen really should stay away from Vegas, but she can't seem to help herself. She has a diamond she wants, and a shifter she's hot for, and some revenge on the side just calling her name. Karen's sister Kaya and her mate Trey almost didn't make it out alive from Vegas, and yet her Karen comes. And that one night with that shifter turned out to be a mess, well a beautiful disaster LOL. And then we have Tanner, that shifter, who's a bear. He needs to complete a mission for his clan. And meeting his mate in the middle of the chaos was not part of his mission plan. AND his clan is not going to be happy with who his mate is. So, it's complicated and oh so scrumptious.

So, It's a struggle between Karen and Tanner but I loved their relationship and how it grew. Tanner is struggling not being with Karen, then she somehow appears right in his way. Tanner is security and Karen wants to steal a diamond from him. LOL And for Karen, it's on because she remembers what Tanner did that night, and then didn't do the next morning.

I love the writing style and this was so much fun watching these two almost fight it out! It's a great set of suspense and mystery and I won't lie, these two are pretty cool characters to love! Though I may still love her wolf series the most, her bears run a close second but her dragons are just AWESOME!!!   I absolutely loved it and I cannot wait for more!!! 5 PAWS!!

My Review!

I absolutely adore this series!! I totally thought this was gunna play out differently. Ok I'm sorry but this time I will probably have to give a little tiny spoiler but if you read the blurb you already know... Ok so in book one and two, we are heart broken for Soren because his brother finds a mate, and her sister finds a mate, and Soren's mate is dead. Until the end of book two when we get that whopper of a shock that Sarah- Soren's mate is alive.... And pregnant. Yes there's the spoiler. But if you've read the series you already know and if you didn't... Well you're not cool until you do! HA! Ok the reason I want to talk about this is I TOTALLY had something in my mind about her pregnancy and please don't even think you're close. I had positive, negative, terrifying, then optimistic thoughts- all wrong. However.... ITS BRILLIANT! The real secret behind everything. I love Sarah. As much as our other two females. I didn't think I could love the sisters any more but after seeing them with Sarah, I really do!

Now a lot of this story is split into two things. The crazy rogues still after everyone, and figuring out how Sarah and Soren are gunna fit together again. Both puzzles kept me glued to the pages and both puzzles are solved spectacularly! That's right, there's some resolving finally! I finally got a look into Soren's head which I've been dying for. He's really nothing like Simon even if they are brothers and super close. And Sarah is kick ass in her own way. She does everything for her baby. LOVE THAT!!!!

The writing is epic! I couldn't let this one go until I was done. And then I think I burst into happy and sad tears at the same time! Happy because the ending is just wonderful. Sad because PLEASE don't let this be the end!!! I think it is because of the ending but I have not shame in begging for more!! Or at least let me see them in another spin off of our desert wolves or something!! I can't let go! But anyways. I think this is a wonderful example of what paranormal romance is! 5 BEARY PAWS!! And some WOLFY paws too!

Temptation by Anna Lowe!!

Ready for your latest hero? Cole Harper is all yours today, because TEMPTATION has just released. I'm so excited to bring Janna and Cole's story to you! It's the story of two people fighting irresistible attraction while danger lurks just around the corner from the Blue Moon Saloon. Get your copy here!

His darkest fears...her deepest desires.
She-wolf Janna Macks knows trouble when she sees it, especially when it comes in the form of an irresistibly broody cowboy like Cole Harper. Her fledgling pack is already in the cross hairs of a ruthless group of rogues, and falling head over heels in lust with a human will only endanger her loved ones more. The problem is, her wolf knows her destined mate when she sees him — and Cole is it.

Rodeo pro Cole Harper has never felt this off-kilter before. One minute, he’s lusting after Janna, the spunky waitress he can’t get off his mind, and the next, he’s growling at a dark inner voice demanding all kinds of crazy things — like howling at the moon and claiming Janna as his own. There’s only one thing stronger than the overwhelming need for Janna, and that’s the fear that without her, he’ll succumb to the strange inner beast wrestling for control of his haunted soul.

Behind the doors of the Blue Moon Saloon, alpha shifters confront their darkest fears and their deepest desires. This book is a complete standalone story that ends with a strong hook to the main character in the next book of the series.

* A paranormal romance with adult content. The perfect read for fans of strong heroines, alpha heroes, werewolves and shapeshifters, red-hot cowboys, romantic westerns, paranormal suspense, action-adventure romance, and fantasy romance!

My Review

Oh book two is fantastic!!! I loved meeting Janna in the first book. She's so bubbly and has a wonderful attitude and outlook. Even with all that's happened to her and her family, Janna has made it look easy, easier than Jess did. And we also got a glimpse of Cole in book one. He's a gorgeous man, but broody and broken. And yet they can't seem to stay away from each other. Janna knows she can't mate with a human and especially since the rogues who have been after her and her sister for purity. But somethings making Janna's wolf claim Cole as her mate and she can't seem to help it. No matter what she tries, she's drawn to him. And he to her.

I loved finally finding out why Cole was broken. He's got so much guilt eating at him and yet he does everything he can to help others. I absolutely fell even more in love with him after he saves the little boy and when he finally figured out he really can't stay away from Janna. And the twist- I freaking loved it!!

The writing is flawless! It's a great story and I think it's a wonderful addition to the series. I can't wait for Soren's story!! 5 WOLFY PAWS!!!

My Review

I love this series!! I still haven't read book one but I loved book two and book three sealed the deal for me. I freaking love all these characters so very much. I especially loved seeing the changes that happened since the ending of book two! And for you new comers to the series- no worries!! You can pick this book up with no problems at all. You'll be like me, wanting the others just because!! Plus, I'm a huge werewolf fan so ya know! I think this book had been the most suspenseful so far. I loved how it was life or death almost all the time with that big ole threat of the big bad wolves hanging over their heads.

Stephanie had a good life... Until her job took her to the wrong client. Who went psycho on her! With teeth! And now, she's freaked out and has no where to go and no one to help. So she runs. And ends up near Twin Moons. And into the dust of her childhood friend. She is also losing her mind. Or so she thinks, because she has all this weird now. A voice in her head, heightened smells and sounds. Odd feelings. She's also so normal that you can't help but love her. She's a little broken, but just a little- like we all are.  She's lost all control and sense of being. Until Kyle- who throws her off balance and makes her feel things she doesn't grasp. Well, until she literally grasps and then it's all whirlwinds from there hahaha!!

Kyle is beautifully broken. He's had so much hurt and so much isolation, even if it's self inflicted. He's strong and caring and he's alpha in a crazy way lol he had the same thing. He was attacked. He not only understands Stephanie's situation, but he feels for her, and not just pity. He's always lived on the outside, including from the pack. He's an excellent book boyfriend. His fears come from his life and his endurance has stemmed from those bads. And goods, because he remembers Stephanie and her friendship helped him then. Her love healed him now. It's so damn romantic I actually cheered!!! They are each other's ying and yang. And regardless of obstacles and persistence of shouldn't, they found a will.

And with the plot. Well, crazy men make crazy wolves. Oh and high five to our lovely pack for, even late, showing up to the party!! I loved that part most!! And though I talked about suspense, the romance was beautiful. The healing of love and friendship is very significant and it's also real emotion. Everyone wants love and acceptance and I've found it with all these wonderful characters!! This means the writing is damn good. Lol just in cased you missed my insinuations :) With that said, I'm basically begging for more! I absolutely cannot wait!!! 5 BEAUTIFUL WOLFY PAWS!!

Excerpt
A knock on the door on a Sunday night should have set off every alarm in Heather’s body. It should have had her cowering, hoping that whoever it was, they’d please, please give up and go away.
Part of her did cower. But the other part was drawn forward—bold and unafraid. Reckless, even. As if her dog Buddy were there, one step ahead, tail wagging in eager anticipation of a trusted friend. That’s what the night air was signaling now: friend, not foe.
Slowly, carefully, she turned the lock and cracked the door open, bracing to bash it closed, just in case.
It was him. Cody. More than a friend; her heart knew that already. Each time he walked her to her car, another section of her heart caved in. And two nights ago, his kiss had sent the rest crumbling. She could still taste him on her lips, still feel his hand on her hip. She’d been bumping into her own furniture, pouring tea into her cereal, watching the clock for some unknown appointment.
Now, standing before her, Cody’s eyes sparkled gold behind the brown, like coins in an ancient well. In faded denim and a beige shirt, the man was all dry tones, but his hands cupped something succulent and red. Behind him, the desert was hushed, leaning in to eavesdrop. They stood staring at each other for a minute, or maybe ten, bathed in silence except for the hum. It was very faint, like a power station radiating electricity, but it came from between them, out of thin air. Or maybe it was from the thirsty earth below, thrumming with the beat of a primal drum.
The lazy, lusty heat of it wrapped around Heather’s legs and clambered up her frame. Soon she’d be engulfed with that thumping need. Did he feel it, too? She stood silent, wondering what it was that tore at her gut with a curt, urgent message: Cody! Cody! It might have been the call a hibernating bear gets to wake up or a flower to bloom. Every scrap of her was being pulled in his direction.
“Hi,” he breathed. His voice, normally so smooth, had a bit of sandpaper in it tonight.
“Hi,” she said, or at least mouthed it while her pulse hammered in her ears.
Warning bells sounded in her mind. Don’t trust him! Don’t trust anyone!
His lips parted as if to speak then closed again. She could taste the kiss forming on them as he took her in. Not the way some men did, appraising and crude. No, his gaze was gentle, sincere. Hopeful, too. But he was holding back, giving her the power to choreograph what happened next.
Danger! Danger! You don’t know what he will do!
Heather shoved the spinster aside and swung the door wide. “Would you like to come in?”
Grinning like a boy offered a cookie jar and trying to remember his manners, Cody stepped over the threshold. “Tina asked me to give you this.” He handed her a limp sheaf of papers. Meanwhile, all his focus—his hopes—were pinned to his other hand. The one that held out strawberries. Juicy. Sweet. Begging to be devoured.
Temptation, there for her to take or reject.
She was shaking inside, her mouth dry, her pulse racing. To take meant risk—risking her heart, maybe even her life. To reject meant locking herself away from a life worth living.
She took, unable to deny herself. It was sheer instinct; the inner voice had no time to intervene. Only to react once it was too late. I hope you know what you’re doing.
But she had no idea what she was doing, just this crazy instinct to trust him. She rinsed the berries and covertly watched Cody make a loop through her living room. He was taking it all in, from the second-hand couch to the desert scenes she’d cut out of an old wall calendar to decorate the walls. Everything was improvised, like the scrap of cardboard evening out the legs of the rickety table. God, what would he think?
He leaned over a framed photo. “Nice dog.”
A trick! A trick! Be careful!
            “Buddy,” she said, smiling automatically.
            “Buddy?” he laughed.
“Hey, I was nine when I named him!” Her hands went to her hips, prompting Cody to throw his palms up in surrender. “He was the best.”
He studied the picture more closely then shot her a skeptical look. “Him?”
That dog had been closer to her than most of her family members. A shoulder for her to cry on through her parents’ divorce and subsequent remarriages to partners who gradually pushed Heather away. From her ninth birthday until that awful day a decade later when Buddy died, he’d always been there for her. “The absolute best.”
Cody’s eyes danced. “Better than Lassie?”
She laughed. He’d chosen the right moment to lighten things up. She was much too tense.                “Way better.”
            “Better than Rin-Tin-Tin?”
            “A totally different class.”
He raised his eyebrows. “What about Benji? Benji could solve crimes, you know.” His eyes sparkled at some inside joke.
She shook her head, unimpressed. “Buddy didn’t need to solve crimes; he was so good at keeping trouble away.”
“Big dog.” Cody shook his head skeptically.
            “I like big dogs.”
His head tilted to one side. “How big?”
“Big.” What was this, some kind of Freudian analysis? She moved from the kitchenette, holding out the bowl of strawberries, willing her hand not to shake. “Dessert?”
Cody grinned, and she immediately felt her face heat in a flush.
Never trust any man! the fearful voice cried. But this time, the voice came from a distance, as if it had been grabbed by the scruff of its neck and was being escorted out the back door, fading away into the night. Don’t trust anyone…

My Review

I have a new werewolf series to love!! And I haven't read the other books of the series but I'll make sure that changes soon! This was a fun read and it's got hot guys, cute kids, funny moments and bad guy vampires!! Loved it!

Heather Luther is a school teacher and she's grabbed everything she can after being attacked by something that shouldn't be real. She lost her best friend, her life, and her only love- teaching. She's terrified but when she finally stops in a little ranch town in Arizona, she finds a few reasons she wants to stay. She found a job teaching, some nice town folk, and some HAWT guys- one in particular. I loved that she wanted to over come her fears no matter how hard it was. And the vampire has followed her, while murdering along the way. I loved her especially at the end!!

Cody has always been the let down. His brother gets all the praise but also all the responsibility. His sister is in the same boat. Cody wants love and to live just a little bit without his father making his life miserable. And then he meets heather. She's off limits- she's a human!! And there's a vampire killing all over near him. It's the storm that won't end for him. He's so sweet but I gotta say, I wanted to kick his shin and tell him to grow a back bone. Yes I know- alphas are always right. Um no! Some things are worth fighting for and because of his stupid alpha father he almost lost heather. I do however love his genuine kindness and his child like mischievousness :)

I loved the sweet romance and the plot twist with the bad vampers! It's a quick read with great writing and awesome characters! I liked Cody's siblings. Especially Tina :) Ty I think will have to grow on me. I definitely look forward to going back to read the first book and I really look forward to reading book three!! 5 WOLFY PAWS!!!

About the Author:

Anna Lowe loves putting the "hero" back into heroine and letting location ignite a passionate romance. She likes a heroine who is independent, intelligent, and imperfect — a woman who's doing just fine on her own. But give the heroine a good man (not to mention a chance to overcome her own inhibitions) and she'll never turn down the chance for adventure, nor shy away from danger.

Anna is a middle school teacher who divides her time between coastal Maine and a village in view of the Austrian Alps. She loves dogs, sports, and travel — and letting those inspire her fiction.

Once upon a time, she was a long-distance triathlete and soccer player. Nowadays, she finds her balance with yoga, writing, and family time with her husband and young children. On any given weekend, you might find her hiking in the mountains or hunched over her laptop, working on her latest story. Either way, the day will end with a chunk of dark chocolate and a good read.
