Today, it's release day for Dragons are People, Too, a young adult contemporary fantasy by Sarah Nicolas releasing April 28th from Entangled Teen. This is a fantastic book and I can't wait to tell you all about it!!
Never judge a dragon
by her human cover...
Sixteen-year-old Kitty Lung has everyone convinced she’s a normal teen—not a secret government operative, not the one charged with protecting the president’s son, and certainly not a were-dragon. The only one she trusts with the truth is her best friend—and secret crush—the über-hot Bulisani Mathe.
Then a junior operative breaks Rule Number One by changing into his dragon form in public—on Kitty’s watch—and suddenly, the world knows. About dragons. About the Draconic Intelligence Command (DIC) Kitty works for. About Kitty herself.
Now the government is hunting down and incarcerating dragons to stop a public panic, and a new shape-shifting enemy has kidnapped the president’s son. Kitty and Bulisani are the last free dragons, wanted by both their allies and their enemies. If they can’t rescue the president’s son and liberate their fellow dragons before getting caught themselves, dragons might never live free again.

My Review
I LOVED this book!! It's so much fun and it's got a cool concept, as well as good lessons in life. AND I just happen to love dragons! :) There's something so intriguing with governments. You see, the secret service works with dragons, for centuries, to help protect the president and their family. Those really important people. And it's amazing to think about it, right. And on top of that, what happens when the world finds out that those around them are shapeshifters. Well, things go into chaos as you would think.
So, Kitty is 16. Her parents are the head honchos of those in charge of doing these very covert operations. Kitty's job is to guard the president's son at school. They are the same age, and she is very very good at what she does. She's trained her whole life, to be a soldier, and a spy. Jacob, the son, is really sweet. And her partner, Sani, is another dragon protector. Kitty secretly loves him, so do I but it's not a secret LOL! Well, when Kitty goes on a second side job for her mom, and brings a rookie, who changes ON CAMERA, the world for dragons living fall apart. Dragons are locked up and held against their will. People come out of the wood works ready to kill them. Kitty and Sani are trying to stop a kidnapping attempt on Jacob when everyone gets put in lock down. So they go on the run together, first to try to rescue Jacob, and second, to find a way to rescue the dragons, including Kitty's family. Kitty's a little but of a rebel soldier. Oh she will do her job, except sometimes she wants to do it her way. She likes to rebel a little :) And don't forget, she's still a kid, with a huge responsibilty. She's struggling to make decisions that someone her age just may not have the wiseness to take into account!
I loved the relationship that blooms between Sani and Kitty. I really didn't think they would get an ending that wasn't crying! I am so happy for them, thought it's not over. I also loved the actions. Yep, there's a good but more than probably expected for a YA. Well, I thought it was awesome. I liked the lore that the author based her dragon shifters on. African, English, and Japanese. And each had different gifts, powers, and looks. I loved it. I absolutely cannot wait to see what's going to come from book two. You see, only have of the problems are solved. I hope we get to see CINDY. She is creeptastically awesome! And I can't wait to see the reactions of everyone around them of all that has happened! I'm going to patiently wait for book two :) 5 DRAGON PAWS!
