Book Description:

The one whose emotions I can’t feel is the one who makes me feel the most.

I was a sensitive, at least that’s what I was told by the boy who saved me from the overwhelming emotions that consumed my soul, the boy who saved me from myself when my gift became stronger. Through the years, he was my redemption, my reason to take my next breath…then, he was gone.

Jensen always told me I was strong, but I didn’t believe him until I was forced to be strong on my own, and I kept breathing without him. I’ve taken 42 million breaths since the moment he sent me away. Now, four years later, he’s standing in front of me, and I can barely breathe.

This isn’t just a story about the abilities I possess; it’s a story about something much stronger…the love of the man who possesses every part of me.

Disclaimer – Feel is intended for readers 18+ due to strong language, mature scenes, and some violence.

Excerpt:

I place my hand over his, leaning my cheek against the warmth of his touch before backing away so I can see him.  I’m insane for falling for him again, but it seems my heart isn’t giving me a choice at the moment, ignoring how the rest of me is scared as hell it will never survive if he breaks it this time.
   “I don’t want you to hurt,” I whisper.  I don’t.
“Then, please stop fighting what we are together and get your stubborn ass over here so I can kiss you like I haven’t seen your pretty face in four long fucking years.”
I take one step towards him and that’s all he needs to wrap me in his arms, pulling me against his chest to close the rest of the distance between us as his hungry mouth collides against mine.  His teeth nip the fullness of my bottom lip then his tongue caresses and strokes the sensitive, tingling skin.  All strength in my body is stolen by the liberating dominance in his kiss, bruising and healing wrapped in one breathtaking seduction.  My knees no longer work, but the rest of my body becomes alive, responding to his touch, awakening me from the emptiness I’ve lived in for so long.  This is what I’ve craved.  What I’ve missed.  His taste, scent, and touch have haunted me, and I breathe them all in deeply now, terrified they will be gone again.
His fingers slide against my neck before softly tangling my hair in his fist.  My head spins at his gentle touch mixed with his rough, passionate kiss.  My lips part, granting his tongue all the access it wants, and he takes it greedily, sliding his tongue against mine, taming and setting me free.  His kiss is scorching, searing me as liquid heat pulses low in my stomach.  I feel the damp cotton pressing against where I need him to be so badly right now. Soft whimpers rumble up my throat, the needy pants muffled against his hot mouth. Jensen’s hand pulls me flush to his body and I feel him, hardened and throbbing, against my stomach.  My gasp fills the air.  I twist my waist, straddling myself against the muscles on his thigh.

My Review

This is the first book I've read by this author, but it's a fun and unique story, so I think I'll be getting a few more of her books soon :) Saige is our main character, and she is essentially an empathy, except she feels everything. Her feelings, everyone around her's feelings, people in a few blocks of her's feelings. I know that has to be hard. And though it makes her life hell, she still tries to help people when their feelings overwhelm her. She also gets visions of the future, especially death, so she constantly tries to help people to not die horribly, and yet all they do is hurt her in return. When she was younger, she found someone who made her life easier. But love doesn't always give us an easy way out, and when Saige looses the guy she loves, her life becomes on horrible mess piled on top.

There's a mad man on the loose, he's going to bomb Saige's school and kill her class mates. She's on a mission to stop him before she looses even more than she's already lost. But along the way, Jensen, the love of her life, the boy who left her and sent her away, is now a man, and he will do everything to keep her. He doesn't understand how much he's hurt her in trying to protect her in the first place. So he not only needs to stop the bomber, but convince Saige that he never stopped loving her, and he only hurt her to protect her from something even worse than death.

My only complaint is that I wish just a little bit more back story would have been given up front. You get the back story, you just have to read the story and let it unfold. I fell in love with the characters, but I wonder a little if I knew some of the back story earlier if I would have liked them more at the beginning instead of midway through. One of my favorite parts of this book is the best friend of Jensen and the side characters that come in. Even though you don't know their back story, you're gunna love them anyways :)

I loved this story. I do hope it continues in the future. The writing is great, once you get a little feel for how it goes. The author also made a story that kept the pages turning and leaving me wanting more. I am looking forward to seeing where this one will go :) 4.5 PAWS!!

Author Interview
Where are you from?
I live in a small town near Asheville, NC.

Tell us your latest news?
I’m thrilled for the release of Feel, my newest novel.  Feel is my fifth book but my first paranormal romance (heavier on the romance than the paranormal).  Also, I’m very happy to announce that Gavin’s (sexy, badass bouncer from Ash to Steele) story will be live in 2015.

When and why did you begin writing?
I knew I wanted to become an author when I was in college, but didn’t start writing my debut novel, Saving Rain, until September 2012.  I was hooked from that moment and can’t ever see myself not writing nowJ

When did you first consider yourself a writer?
The second I held the paperback of Saving Rain in my hands I felt official!  It’s a feeling that I will never forget.

What inspired you to write your first book?
I’m a hopeless sucker for romance so I knew a powerful love story would be on the agenda, but I also wanted it to mean something more.  With human trafficking only getting worse and more widespread, I decided to write a romance involving the FBI teaming up with the main character, Raina Kapture, to locate and take down trafficking rings.  The first novel in the trilogy is more about Raina and Kas’ developing relationship, with the trafficking ring in the background, but, as the story progresses, human trafficking plays more of a main role.

Do you have a specific writing style?
I’m all over the place when I write.  I’ve tried to sit down and write from beginning to end but I’m not made that way ;).  My characters always throw me for a loop, anyway, so I definitely have more of a panster style.

How did you come up with the title?
With Feel, I decided to name the novel after one of the abilities Saige possess.  She can feel the emotions of those around her and can sense death.   Feel just seemed so appropriate as the title because of Saige’s gift but also because the reader will feel a myriad of emotions while reading Jensen and Saige’s story.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
It’s never too late for second chances, and you’re stronger than you think.  Feel is a powerful love story between two people who have gone through hell.  Jensen will kick anyone’s ass who hurts Saige, but is lovingly gentle with her.  He will risk everything to make sure she’s safe, including sending her away.  When they see each other again, Jensen has to earn Saige’s trust.

How much of the book is realistic?
That depends on who you ask ***wink wink***.  While researching Feel, I decided to focus on abilities that are arguably possible.  I’m leaving it at that ;).

Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
No.  All my novels are fictional, although, they feel very real to me by the time the last words are written.  Each of my characters have become a part of who I am.

What books have most influenced your life most?
I’m a huge fan of James Patterson; the man is a genius. My favorite novel is Great Expectations, but I have the fondest memories of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
This is such a tough question because there are tons of amazing authors out there.  If I have to choose, I would have to say James Patterson, because he can write anything.

What book are you reading now?
I’m getting ready to start Gillian Felix’s new novel that is soon to be released, Perfect Escape (Family Portraits series).

Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
I’ve been so wrapped up in writing lately, I haven’t been able to read nearly as much as I would like to, but I really enjoyed Tempting Tatum by Kaylee Ryan.

What are your current projects?
Currently, I’m beginning Gavin’s story.  I fell in love with his character while writing Ash to Steele.  Gavin was originally going to have a much smaller role in Breck and Emma’s story, but he wasn’t having that at all!  I couldn’t stop writing about him, so I’m thrilled to be starting his own novel.

What would you like my readers to know?
If you like a powerful romance with sexy alpha male heroes who have a sensitive side, and damaged, but strong, female leads, I hope you give Feel a chance.  I would love to know what you think about Jensen and Saige’s story!
