OK, so I am doing something, which I think is cool, to help promote a book that will come out in three parts. It's like a serial I guess, but I still think it's cool. So, Jocelynn Drake is release book three in three parts. I will have a review stop for each one, so today I am showing you the goodies for part one and then a little peak at what's to come :) So let me show you!

My Review
This is a fantastic world to live in!! I haven't read any of these books from this series YET, but I am not hunting for books one and two. You'll see Gage in a wonderful light, and then he'll break your heart with the little ending. It's nonstop action, amazing world building, even without the previous books, I still felt comfortable here. Though I know I am missing something.
Gage is quite the scary, yet sought after secret magical man. I am saying it like that for a reason that I won't give away. He's sweet, yet a little hard sometimes. And though I know this is just the beginning, I love him already! I need to read the first two books before I make any major spoilery comments, so, I will have my review for part two coming in shortly, and I'll make sure to have a better grasp on things. BUT don't let that stop you from picking this series out... I am off to find the first two books now LOL but 5 MAGICAL PAWS!!

Author Interview
First, tell me a little about your book :)….
The Final Asylum Tales follows Gage, an former warlock-turned-tattoo artist as he attempts to track down two different murdering psychopaths as they attempt to tear about the fragile peace that he has established in his life. With Demon’s Fury – the first part in the three-part serial – we find Gage’s life on the cusp of great change. He’s finally coming to term with events the occurred at the end of summer and he going to discover that Trixie, his girlfriend, has been hiding a big secret from him. As we come to the end of Gage’s journey, he takes a hard look at what is truly important to him and what he’s willing to do to protect those he loves.
I wanna know how you come up with such awesomeness! Do you recall how your interest in writing originated or did you always just know?
I have loved books for as long as I can remember. As a child, I would great stacks of books off my shelf and spend my afternoon reading. Every Saturday, I’d sweet talk my father into driving me down to the library so I could check out a stack of books that I’d finish reading before I went back to school on Monday.
I was twelve when I read a retelling of the Robin Hood story. I loved the book, but I felt like something was missing. So I sat down on my bed with a notebook in my lap and spent the summer rewriting the story of Robin Hood so that it included a kick-ass female who could keep up with Robin and his merry men. That was the first book I ever wrote and I still have it tucked away.
I wanna read this!!!! How do you choose when/which characters die in your books?
It’s not an easy decision, particularly when it’s a character that has appeared in several books. But I consider if this person’s death will aid the plot, drive needed character development, and if this character has anything more to add to the plot or main character’s development going forward. If the character has nothing new to give, then there’s no reason for them to continue to hang around. Many times it’s simply a matter of the main character not being able to grow further without this crucial event.
Who do you look up to as a writer?
I look up to the dreamers who take risks in the world to make their dreams a reality. I look up to the people who are willing to fail to achieve great things.
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your book?
Nope.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
I think the hardest part of writing is the editing. The rough draft is easy – it’s just a massive race to get all the events running through my head onto paper. The revision stage is the balancing act of managing those events, character development, and crafting the language of the tale.
What book are you reading now? Or what genre?
I am reading Lev Grossman’s The Magicians, Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman’s Dragons of Autumn Twilight, and Anthony Bourdain’s Medium Raw.
Did you learn anything from writing your books and what was it?
My main characters and I tend to learn the same things along the way. We learn the things that mean most to us. The fire of strife, anger, helplessness, and struggle burn away all the things that are unimportant, leaving behind the things that we’d fight and die for.
If you could be one of your characters, who would you chose?
I think I’d like to be Bronx the troll. He has achieved a deep sense of peace and a certainty of his place in the world. I admire it and wish I could reach the same serenity. He also has a great sense of humor.
THANK YOU so much for hanging out with us!!! I hope we can do this again and you can stop by for another visit :)
