Excerpt:
He reached out with his Wolf senses. The feedback froze his fingers on the doorknob. Female. Damn, she smelled good. Human. Wolf. Wait…both? The copper tang of blood hit his nose. And injured.

He flung open the door. His abrupt move caught his visitor off guard, one small, white fist raised to knock. The woman startled and fell forward. Catching her, he pulled her inside, kicking the door shut with his foot.

She sagged against him, a shivering bundle of wet woman. Underneath the dampness, her scent drop-kicked his gut. Apples and cinnamon. Roses and honey. His body perked up, taking extreme notice. He fought the growl of possession threatening to tear out of his throat. Holy hell, had his potential mate just walked into his home in the middle of a storm?

The scent of her blood jump-started his brain into action. He lowered her gently to the floor. “Jesus. You okay?”

His instincts urged him to check her for wounds, but he was a stranger and didn’t want to spook her. But goddamn, he wanted to touch her. Peel off her wet clothes. See all of her. With a jacket covering her torso, tight jeans hiding her legs, and her ball cap pulled low on her face, all he’d seen so far was her quivering pale chin, full red lips, and those delicate, trembling hands.

“S-s-sorry, d-dripping all ov-v-ver your f-f-floor,” she said, teeth chattering. Her snow white fingers curled on the hardwood, arms trembling with her effort to keep herself upright. Blood streaked the wood. A line of liquid crimson slid down her jaw and dripped from her chin onto her jacket.

To hell with propriety. “You’re injured. Let me help you.” He pulled off her cap and damn near swallowed his tongue.

Big green eyes blinked up at him from a face so pale it made him think of moonlight. Drenched, short black hair lay plastered to her head, the ends framing features reminiscent of the fairies his sister loved to draw for the hidden-object games she designed. Ethereal beauty. My beauty. He stroked a knuckle down her cheek then ran his thumb over her soft, full lower lip.

She flinched and batted his hand away, falling to her side in the process.

Ross snapped back to reality with a healthy hit of guilt. “Shit. Sorry.”

His gaze shot to her forehead where a two-inch cut sent blood trailing over her prominent cheekbone with its silky-smooth skin he’d so enjoyed caressing—

Shit. He gave himself a mental ass kicking for scaring her. “I’m Ross. You’re safe here. Promise.”

My Review
I haven't read the other books of this series by this author, but I really liked this one I have read a book from this series written by a different author. :) That's kind of cool if you ask me. Different authors writing in the same series! So, when I signed up for the release day for the next book and figured I should read this one too :) So, let's talk about fun wolfy things LOL. Plus I just like werewolves, and this is a sweet, short, fun little adventure!

Darci Diamond is a half breed. She has lived as a human, who hates and fights her wolf side. Her parents died when she was young, and her aunt raised her. Her aunt being human didn't know things about the werewolf part, so she did the best she could. But now, this last shift almost, well kinda did, kill Darci, so she's searching for help. From some unknown, unlikely sources, names her father left in a not to extensive letter. Poor kid. She didn't understand the wolf side, or how other werewolves live or act with each other. She also didn't know who her father was to this pack. So when she stumbles blindly, and a little naively, into unknown and unwanted territory, she's in for a rough ride. But at least Ross is a hawt piece LOL. I felt bad for Darci, though she over reacts a lot, she doesn't understand, so she is forgiven for her crazy. LOL I liked her though. She's had it pretty rough and I think she's overcome a lot with just a little.

Ross is some kinda sexy. He's the perfect guy for me. Werewolf, loaded, but giving away his money, sweet, kind, funny, walking sex piece. LOL See, perfect. He's even extra nice to some crazy girl covered in mud who shows up at his door. And then he smells her. She's his mate. But now he not only has to to teach her everything but explain things to her. I loved him. And I loved that he was willing to do ANYTHING for her. And he can cook! YUM!

The "bad guys" aren't really bad guys. First off, Darci is her own worst enemy, so she's fighting herself. It takes a good while for her to figure that out. Second, the bad guys actually have to over come a little prejudice so they aren't really bad, though they had me scared for a bit. Sometimes the past isn't always the best place to live in or rely on for info. :) Overall, the plot kept me interested and this is a short story, so it's a quick read! I can't wait to get more from this series! 5 WOLFY PAWS!

Excerpt
I'm glad you had a good night," Mary signed. "I'm very happy for you."
"Me too," Susan signed back, then averted her eyes about the room, observed other patrons eating breakfast, looked everywhere except at Mary.
Instantly, Mary recognized something wasn't right. That something else must have happened to Susan last night that she didn't want to admit. Without giving the least consideration to her surroundings, Mary verbalized her thoughts instead of signing. "What is it, Susan? What else happened? He didn’t disrespect you afterward, did he? I'll take my derringer and shoot him dead. I swear to God. Tell me what else happened, right now, before I go off and commit a murder."
Conversation instantly stopped on all sides of them, the other diners blatantly staring, obviously wanting to hear if this well-dressed woman was justified in her threat. Sadly, Susan could only sign an answer.
"I've just made up my mind to send a letter by courier to Dr. Brenner this morning asking him to meet you at the spa later this afternoon."
Mary instantly felt her face flushing with heat. "And what reason will the letter specifically state for my wanting to meet with him?"
"It will state you want him to give you a treatment. We'll say you haven't the energy to do it yourself due to all the long hours of labor you've put into the spa. We won't mention anything about you being in love with him."
"Oh no you're not!" Mary's breath whooshed out of her. She felt like all the oxygen had been sucked out of the room and she might pass out any second. She couldn't make her fingers communicate fast enough. "What would make you want to do such a thing? Didn't you hear me saying how it will give him a complex when he can't bring me off?"
"He's a consummate professional. So he won't have a complex if you don't come," Susan signed. "Besides, you will certainly reach Heaven with him because you're in love with him. I won't sit idly by, letting you deny yourself the one thing in life you really want. I'm used to men not falling in love with me. I'm perfectly happy going through life with a revolving door of strange men in my wake. But I won't let you give up on the only man you've ever loved. Dr. Joseph Brenner is a good man, a thorough doctor, and he's perfect for you. You know I'm right. Now listen to me—"
Mary slapped her hand down on the table. The staccato sound of palm on pine echoed off the dining room walls. The silverware jumped in response.
"Absolutely not!" Mary shook her head for emphasis; liking the fact her vehemence stopped Susan in mid-sign. "Do you want to go back to teaching uncouth adolescents? Well, I certainly don't. And this boardinghouse is as far as I care to descend on the ladder of life. By this time next year we can go back to our lavish lifestyles if we stay the course. So I won't have any part of it. I won't let the failure of the spa rest on my shoulders."
"It won't be resting on your shoulders." Susan's officious demeanor returned. "It'll be resting on your stubborn quim."

About the Author:

Edgy and provocative in his writings, Thomas Briar strives to exalt the virtues of love and lust in every erotic story he creates. To date, he's garnered eleven publishing contracts with three different publishers and has seven published books in the marketplace.

When he's not writing, he enjoys spending time with his wife, reading, taking long walks, and people watching. Yeah, he's always wondering what makes people do the things they do. He knows it's usually something hidden in plain sight. He just has to figure out what it is, much like the motivations of the characters in his stories.

Five Revelations from Thomas Briar

•        I was once a very religious young man. The ladies in the church I attended wore their hair in buns and their dress-tails brushed against the hardwood floor. Considering the explicit sexual content in my books, who would ever suspect that I came from such an austere environment…right?
•        At twenty-five years of age I discovered Zalman King's Red Shoe Diaries and Anais Nin. The course of my life was forever altered. However, due to my religious upbringing, I suffered quite the emotional dilemma: either reinvent myself into who I wanted to be or continue to live out my life in religious austerity. I honestly believe I made the right choice.
•        My wife is the most fun I've ever had. And I suspect she always will be. I met her when I was twenty-two and she was nineteen. I knew I was going to marry her three weeks into our relationship but I waited eight months before I actually asked for her hand in marriage. We've been together twenty-one years. She's the love of my life.
•        I'm no stranger to manual labor. My father put me to work at six years old. I chuckle now whenever I think back at how I considered it a travesty that my younger brother didn't have to start working until he was seven. My brother and I are still the best of friends all these many years later.
•        I love writing erotica and erotic romance. Every time I publish a new story I feel like I'm doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing with my life.

Excerpt

I’m alive, but I should be dead. I’m moving but not walking… Someone’s carrying me.
The sounds of the forest were all around me, except there wasn’t a single footstep rustling the forest floor. I only sensed the movement through the person who held me—superior strength and superior grace. I felt his powerful strides advancing as he clutched me to his solid chest, the strong arms that cradled my damaged body.
Can the dead dream? No.
There was no way of knowing how long I’d been unconscious. My memories were slow, spotty, coming back in short blasts of terror that started with the recollection of my father’s demands for a grandchild. I remembered running away, being attacked by a man in a mask, and waking up on the ground alone, the hungry beast dropping out of the tree.
Are the attacker and the monster one and the same?
I tried to recall the struggle. I’d stabbed the strange monster in the gut and made it bleed.
I hurt it.
The monster had retaliated by taking a chunk out of my neck.
It hurt me back.
I cringed as I remembered the terror and the agony I felt while it fed from my vein. An odd sort of throbbing in my neck quickened as my heart raced. How am I still alive? Panic stole my breath and uncontrollable twitches jerked at my limbs. The arms holding me tightened in response, restraining my erratic movement.
Something slid past my lips into my mouth. I tried to turn my head, working to keep my mouth clamped shut but failing. Nothing stopped the intrusion, which I thought to be a finger, from the size and feel. Whatever he forced me to eat left a sticky residue on my tongue that tasted sweet and bitter, like a bad dessert wine. I wanted to open my eyes to see who carried me, but I couldn’t. So I tried to call out, several times, but nothing came out of my mouth.
He’s taking me somewhere I don’t want to go.
“Is she going to be okay?” It was a man’s voice, a voice I knew. I’m not in the arms of the monster. Jack must have heard my screams. He saved me and now he was taking me home to Ben. A sob of relief pushed past my lungs to escape my mouth.

EXCERPT:

Darien set the drink in front of Berk and then leaned on the bar.
Berk took a drink of the pink concoction and grinned before looking around at the others. “So,” his gaze moved over each one of the nine men present, “it’s just the males at this middle of the night meeting?” He smirked. “Not that I’m complaining.”
Darien tipped his beer bottle toward him and then took a sip. “It wouldn’t be a meeting if all the women were here.”
“No, it would be a party.” Baker added with a grin.
Kyran tasted the drink in front of him carefully, like he was unsure if he should be drinking it. “Not bad. What is it again?”
Darien saw the look pass between Attis and Pascal. He knew the look and felt a twinge of pain for the unsuspecting detective.
Pascal grabbed several shot glasses and placed them on the bar. “It’s a python,” He picked up a bottle of tequila and started to pour it, “patent pending.”
Shrugging, Kyran drank some more of it. “It’s good.”
Darien looked away when the human glanced at him. “Before we get into more of the libations, I’d like to brain storm and see if we can come up with a list of possible suspects that might have something against Serenity or Remi.”
Finn downed his tequila and washed it down with a mouthful of blood. “See I don’t get that anyone could have a thing against Remi.” He shrugged. “She’s…”
“The most brilliant…” Boden paused and studied his empty shot glass.
Baker winced as he swallowed his drink. “Graceful,” he croaked.
Darien watched Pascal set another drink in front of Kyran. He looked at the glass the vampire pushed toward him and downed the rest of his previous drink in one gulp, placing it in the hand waiting for it. Raising an eyebrow at Pascal, Darien tried not to smirk and the nonchalant expression on the scheming vamps face. He’d be pouring the detective in a cab later, Darien decided.
“Remi’s the most fucking understanding person I know.” Emery added in a strained voice.
Bates pointed at him, “And you’d know,” he blinked a few times. “You tried to fucking kill her you supreme asshat and she forgave you and then adopted your sorry ass.”
Choking on another shot, Kyran looked at Emery with his eyes wide. “You did what?”
Tipping his beer bottle toward the startled normal, Emery took a long drink and then nodded. “When I was turned, I was left on my own to figure out what the fuck I was.” He shook his head quickly. “I didn’t even know about paras,” he waved a hand motioning to the others sitting along the bar, “never mind I’d need to drink blood to survive.” He chortled softly and looked at the bottle in his hand. “I spent three nights dragging my ass around from one abandoned dive to the next, puking my guts out every time I tried to eat.” He glanced at Attis and Pascal, who Darien noted, had a look of understanding on their faces. Leaning forward he stared down the bar at Kyran, “And then this tall sexy chick walks by,” he waved a hand around, “I think this was the fourth night of the new me.” Shaking his head, he briefly made eye contact with Darien and looked away quickly. “I remember thinking if I wasn’t dying,” he grinned, “because let’s face it I couldn’t even find a fucking pulse in my own body and thought I was, well, dead.” He snorted. “Who knew?” A serious look appeared on his face. “So I see this woman and briefly thought if I wasn’t dying I’d jump that.” He sighed. “Then like a possessed man I did.” Eyes wide he looked at Darien. “I was just going to ask her for a buck or two so I could try some juice or something and the next thing I know I can smell her blood.” He cleared his throat and glanced at Attis. “She smells like fucking paradise and my favorite meal all in one…” He stops talking and picks at the label on the bottle in his hand.
Darien knew he was reliving it. The curse of a vampire, as far as he was concerned, wasn’t that they couldn’t go in light and lived on blood, it was that they felt intense emotions over and over again. Forever.
“So you bit her?” Kyran asked, his voice slightly slurred.
Emery opened his hands and then clapped them together and leaned on the bar. “Yeah, I lost it and bit her and it was…” he waved his hand around searching for the word.
“Tasty.” Finn added with a nod.
Darien turned and glared at him.
“Sorry.” A serious look covered his face.
“What happened?” Kyran accepted the next drink from Pascal without taking his eyes of Emery.
Watching him take a drink, Darien hid his smile behind the beer bottle against his lips and looked back at Remi’s son.
Blowing out a breath, Emery leaned both elbows onto the bar. “I’m thinking I’m going to drain this poor woman, but can’t stop myself and the next thing I know there’s this enormous guy flashing fangs at me and pinning me against the wall.” He motioned to Attis and continued. “I’m scared shitless staring into the face of this red eyed seething man while another larger than life guy is holding Remi and licking her throat to close where I bit her.”
Kyran accepted the shot of tequila from Pascal and downed it. “So, how did you get from that to being her precious son?”
Emery lifted a hand, a confused look on his face.
“I’m ready to rip his throat out,” Attis said in a lethal tone, “when Remi comes too and tells me not to hurt him because he’s scared.” He glanced from Emery to Darien, “to bring him home with us.”
Darien shook his head, still remembering how conflicted he was when they did just that. Setting the empty bottle on the back counter, he moved down to the fridge and grabbed several more. “I’ll never forget you walking in carrying her,” he glanced at Pascal, “it was a week before my heart rate settled down.”
Pascal laughed. “At least you got to look after Remi,” he jerked a thumb toward Emery. “We got left with junior here.”
“Hey, I didn’t know.” Emery added with a grin, accepting the bottle Darien handed him.
Kyran nodded his thanks to Pascal as he slid him another python. “I’m just gonna forget I heard any of that.” He waved a hand around and then pointed at Darien. “Now you.” He took a sip of his drink. “Remi’s your mate?”
Darien leaned back and crossed his arms, knowing he was about to be harassed by all of them in a few moments time.
“So why the fuck,” Kyran paused in a dramatic way, “haven’t you told her?”
Several sounds of agreement sounded. Taking a deep breath, he looked down at the floor. “It’s complicated.”
Finn leaned forward so Darien couldn’t help but see him. “It was complicated, now he’s just procrastinating.”
Darien stood there and kept his eyes on the floor, someday they would all get tired of nagging him.
“Complicated, whatever.” Kyran muttered. “Have you seen Remi?” Darien looked up at him, his eyes were wide and glazed over. “Seriously, aside from the fact she’s smoking hot, she has a brain and a personality.” He finished his drink and pushed the glass toward Pascal with a nod for another. “Don’t even tell me what the hell she was doing with a dickwad like Peterson, that’s just wrong.” He slumped against the bar and squinted at Darien. “What the fuck are you waiting for?”
Darien felt his wolf stir, he knew Remi was the type of woman every man looked at, but hearing it wasn’t always a safe thing.
“New topic.” Berk said loudly. “Anything. Now.” He stood up and tapped his hands on the bar top. “Why are we here?”
Finn moved around to behind the bar, putting three vampires between Darien and the detective that shouldn’t be talking about his mate.

Jacqueline Paige lives in Ontario in a small town that's part of the popular Georgian Triangle area.  No one has ever heard of Stayner, so she usually tells people she lives near Collingwood and no, she doesn't ski at Blue Mountain or at all, in fact she's not even fond of snow.

She began her writing career in 2006 and since her first published works in 2009 she hasn't stopped.  Jacqueline describes her writing as all things paranormal, which she has proven is her niche with stories of witches, ghosts, physics and shifters now on the shelves.

When Jacqueline isn't working at her reality job or lost in her writing she spends time with her five children, most of whom are finally able to look after her instead of the other way around.  Together they do random road trips, that usually end up with them lost,  shopping trips where they push every button in the toy aisle, hiking when there's enough time to escape and bizarre things like creating new daring recipes in the kitchen. Saltwater Secrets, Book 1: Song of the Sea

I always knew who my mother was. I always knew where I belonged. And I always knew I wanted to be on the water, like my dad.

…Until I was forced to go out into the water, anyway. Out there, you feel really lonely. But you’re never alone. There is more life and emotion under the waves than most humans will ever see, more than I could have ever imagined. Down there, it’s an entire world of rage and hate, love and hope. It’s a world of fear.

It’s a world of war.

Once, my mother told me she would sing me a song of the sea. But under the waves, the only music I ever heard was the sound of screams.

My Review

What a fantastic story! WOW! I won't lie, I haven't read much on selkies, but I have loved mermaids forever. Well, the mer folk and the selkies are at war here, and things are really complicated. Especially for one girl, who doesn't understand either world, or the fact that she is part of it, or why. And let me tell you, that huge jaw dropping moment at the end... And seriously, this better be a series, because I WANT MORE DYLAN!!

We start with Brenna. She has a pretty darn good life. And then one day, her mother jumps naked into the sea. Holy goodness. It's wild. And devastating for her. She vows to find her mom. So, we begin the most amazing ride with Brenna. She steals her dad's boat and begins to set out. She's such a fun voice to read. She may be terrified, but she will do whatever to find her mom. And she doesn't understand why her dad just let her go and says she won't come back. And then she meets Dylan. Well. He's something special. I think I love him, and will steal him if she doesn't LOL

So we begin the adventure of learning the world of selkies and mermaids. Sure there's some humans, but that's no fun. I must say, this was a fresh unique and captivating world. I really do hope this is a series because I want more. The writing is great. And don't thing that everything you think you know is correct. I have read several mermaid books. This one is nothing like any of them. The rules have changed. I really did love it, and if they selkies and merfolk are serious about their wars, I bet Brenna's not getting her HEA just yet :) Be prepared for love, loss, serious heart wrenching heart breaks, like Kyle, and learning to love yourself for who you are. I need book two!! 5 tail flapping PAWS! :)

My Review

Well damn!! this one definitely made up for the wopper of a cliff hanger! AND there's a whole new character that I'm all rooting for. New houses, dead bad guys, cool new friends, and some crazy not so friendly friends. LOL

Let's start with Tori waking up back in the hell hole she ran from for so long. Leroy has finally caught up to her running, and he's torturing more people to keep her there. But no worries, this is the most bad ass I think I've seen of Tori. She got a little bloody but I cheered so damn hard! And one of those big bad guys, he's dead. I have never been so happy to read about a decapitation in my life! And Leroy, baby I'm coming for you if Tori doesn't! :) Her team, well, she's loosing some, but she's gaining some others and I'm impressed. And I think I've fallen in love with that little guy, who maybe isn't so little :)

This is what I think of as a family! Some are blood, some aren't. It's the same, there's that bond that holds everyone together and Tori is the glue. And I seriously can't wait to see where this new team is going to go. Also, these new powers we've added to the arsenal. And I must say, this one is rough for Tori. And maybe a few others. I must say, Maniac has grown on me so much now. This story solidifies why he's a great addition to Tori's team. I do believe I may still be Team Trey overall but I am growing to love some of these guys so much.

The plot has added to more of the story and I love the writing. There's always something fun going on or a great twist that will blow you mind. I have a feeling we're going to see some crazy things to come, and I really am anxiously exciting to see where we're going to go from here. It's getting creepy cool and I want more!! 5 PAWS!! :)

Character Interview with Victoria Novak

I just want to thank Ms. Weaver for doing this & I hope my questions will help make it easy to spread the word of this wonderful series!

WELCOME Tori!! First, tell me a little bit about yourself and your life…
What’s your favorite part about being “different”?
Everyone’s different. You just gotta embrace your inner awesomeness and go with the flow. I mean, my difference kept me locked in an underground cave system for eighteen years. But it also brought me a werewolf for a best friend and a witch for a second in command.

In the beginning of your story, you’re on the run.  I know the “running” sucks, but do you think, at that time, it’s the right thing to do for you safety?
I lived in the dark for eighteen years. I just wanted a normal life. You know, TV, college, walks in the park. So yeah, running was the right thing to do. I got me out. It got me free of Leroy. But I’m glad I’m not running anymore.

You still got caught, but in the end you got your team LOL. Tell me how being part of a team has changed from hiding out?
I thought running would let me experience real life. You know, those perfect movie moments with friends and sunshine and rainbows? Not so much. I didn’t get my perfect moment until I found my team. They’re the center of my world and I couldn’t be happier. Hiding who I was only stifled the parts of me that make me strong. The team brought that out of me. They let me be me and still love me for it.

Do you ever wish you could be normal, even for a little while?
Normal is overrated. Trust me, I tried it.

What about your coolest power, can you tell me something about which of your powers you like the most?
Honestly, my powers are a little freaky at times. Like the blood bonding thing. I now have wereanimals tied to me for the rest of my life. I have a vampire that depends on me for his very existence. That’s huge. Way huge. But its also gave me a direct link into their minds. I’m stronger for it, and so are they. Plus telepathy? Way cool.

Do you think you’ll ever have a relationship-more than friendship- with anyone from your team? I’m secretly rooting for one in particular LOL.
I’m learning there’s more to certain members of my team than I thought. Looking back, I realized I’m a little slow on the uptake. But don’t worry, I figure it out eventually. Or, well, he kind of doesn’t let me ignore his feelings anymore. I think that happens after the debacle with the Council, so you may not have heard that part of the story yet.

If these books were made into a movie, who would want to play you?
I’m the only me. And author Loren Weaver says she tries not to picture an actress in my place. Every reader has their own image of me in their heads. I’m just that awesome. Don’t worry, I’ll try not to let it go to my head. But someday, when my story is a movie, who would you want to be me?

Well damn, way to answer a question with a question :) How do you feel about being a hero? You know you are right? :D
I never think of it that way. I’m the Voice of the Dead. I seek and find for them the justice they deserve. If I take in and shelter a few paranormal misfits on the way, well, I can’t stand to see people hurting and not help. It’s just not who I am.

Hmmm, is there anything you’d like to tell me, maybe a little secret, or any cool hints about the upcoming future? ;)
I know you’re pretty miffed about the cliffhanger at the end of Shadow’s Lament. Sorry about that, a little. But Tiger’s Peace reveals a character that I grow to love more than my own life, so I’m pretty excited about you getting to meet them too. Book five is called Dynamite’s Cure. Now that’s not awesome or anything, right?

A little of this and that…
Coffee or tea?  Tea. Sweet. Iced. On the couch with Trey :)
Mountains or beach? The beach. Who wants to be cold all the time? Although, my wereanimal pose might disagree with me when it comes to wide open spaces to run.
Winter or summer? Summer. Outside fun. Water. Heat. Life. The usual.
Vampire or werewolf? You’re really asking me that? Seriously? Is both an acceptable answer? Keep in mind that my BFF is a werewolf and I’m bonded to a vampire. Both of which are hundreds of years older and a lot stronger than me.  *both works LOL**
Cold or hot?  In weather? Hot. In the paranormal? Again, both. I’m learning balance.
Favorite color? Red and black.
Night or day?  I’ll always have a soft spot for daylight. I spent the first eighteen years of my life in the dark. But I’m Paranormal. I’m a creature of the dark.
Moonlight or sunlight? Moonlight. Just not a full moon when I have to deal with lycanthrope politics.
Steak, seafood, burger, or pizza? Trey makes the world’s most awesome homemade pizza that’s to die for. I mean, beyond amazing.

Thank you so much for meeting with me, and letting me ask all these crazy questions! I hope you have a wonderful time and I can’t wait for your next story!

Shadow's LamentShadow’s Lament

The Federal Paranormal Division just got a call from the police in New York. There’s been a rash of vampire murders in the Big Apple and they’re in over their heads. Of course, New York City is the vampire capitol of the western hemisphere, and going there without notifying the Council could mean the execution of Victoria Novak, the Sorceress and a FPD Special Agent.
Of course, she’s pretty sure that’s exactly the plan, but she can’t prove it. And so she must lead her team into the jaws of death because duty calls.
To make matters worse, caught in the middle of the drama are her old Coven Master and the vampire that finally gave her the freedom to leave his care. The more she digs into what’s going on, the more she hears Shadow’s Lament.
