What better way for a pack of wulfkin shifters to remain in seclusion than to hide in plain sight?
Death has followed Alena Novac’s circus family for years, but when the police arrest her brother for murder, she must rescue him before he transforms behind prison walls. With less than a week to execute her plan, a member from the Varlac family who murdered her mother reappears. Now, Alena has to decide whether to make good on her promise to avenge her mother’s death or risk rescuing her brother.
Enre Ulf has one mission – prevent Alena’s father from claiming his territory and slaughtering his wulfkin pack in Transylvania. Enre may have turned his back on his Varlac heritage, but that doesn’t mean he won’t impersonate one to infiltrate the circus clan and take out their alpha. Knowing that his secrets will lead to his demise, Enre takes the risk in order to save his home. What he never planned on was his wolf claiming Alena as his mate.
Now with the police closing in, and the real Varlac threatening them, Alena and Enre must overcome their pasts to save their packs’ futures.
Cloaked in Secrecy is the book 2 in the Wulfkin Legacy series, but can be read a stand-alone-book.

ALENA

Enre turned my way, his cheeks red from the cold, his blue eyes piercing and broody. “It’s going to snow.”

Words tangled on my tongue. What could I possibly say? Since arriving, he’d been playing me to get information. So why couldn’t my wolf and the heat between my thighs back off?

He dropped his gaze and vanished behind me.

Ahead, several cars drove along the main road. One of them pulled into our parking area. Probably locals eager to purchase tickets for tonight’s show. Father should have canceled it.

A snowflake caressed my cheek with its icy touch, and another landed on my nose. I stuck out my gloved palm. Around me, a curtain of tiny, white flakes floated down. They melted the moment they landed. My mother had once told me that getting caught outside on the first day of snow was a wulfkin’s blessing—a chance to cleanse and purge yourself of any wrong intent or doings. Letting the feathery crystals find me, I closed my eyes and pretended my life wasn’t a desperate patchwork of bittersweet feelings. Never again would I jump for the first wulfkin who showered me with attention. I visualized every last piece of desire I held for Enre being washed away on the breeze. Please, Mother. Please help me forget him.

My Review

This is a wonderful sequel in this series!! I loved it! I loved the prequel and first book of the wulfkin series but this one was a little different. We're seeing some of the fall out sequences, both good and bad, from all the events that happened in book one. Daciana is the pack's alpha and Enre takes it upon himself to check out the threats that the previous psycho alpha swore were coming to kill them all. So we get mostly Enre's POV with Alena's, from the Bulgarian pack. When daciana found her mate with a human, I thought it maybe would be a trend, but no, Enre and Alena are both shifters. And with a possibility  of Alena's pack as a threat, dead bodies following their pack's circus, which has cops after them, and Enre's dad threatening to kill him, this book is full of mystery and suspense. And hawt romance.

Enre is changing. He was always the pack hunter, but he's matured and wisened up since the dracwulf almost killed him. He knows Daciana is a great leader so he wants to protect his pack and do the right thing. His heart is much prettier than I thought in the first book. And though he exudes sexuality, he falls in love for real. This makes his choices very different. He's actually a good guy with a scary past.

And Alena is in a majorly tight spot. Her brother is in jail and the full moon is coming. Her father is trying to find their traveling circus pack a real home, a very young girl shifted for the first time is stuck in her wolf form, and she's falling in love with the enemy. Wow. Poor girl, she was pulled in so many directions the whole time. I feel like she stayed stressed lol. But she's a great character. She loves her family so much and she wants to protect everyone. She kept getting confused because Enre wasn't like the usual enemy. And her wolf has claimed his as a mate.

I loved their story. The writing is great and I couldn't put this one down. I kept thinking so many things and got proven wrong each time because of the twists and turns. The Lutia surprise made my day :) and I loved the ending, though it means something big and bad is coming. With a threat from Enre's evil father now, I'm dying for book three now! A wonderful 5 WOLFY PAWS!!!

Author Interview
First, tell me a little about your book and why you wanted to write this particular story….

My latest release, CLOKAED IN SECRECY, is book 2 in the Wulfkin Legacy series and available now. After writing Cloaked in Fur (#1) I’ve always wanted to tell Enre’s story. He has a dark and devastatingly sad background, and it explains a lot about the way he behaves, and why he ended up living in Transylvania. Cloaked in Secrecy explores those topics, revealing his secrets and that despite his horrible past, he’s the most loyal person you’ll ever meet. Or I should say, wulfkin 

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated or did you always just know?
As a child, I enjoyed scribbling stories on pieces of papers and on the inside of book covers. I even signed the books as if they were my own. Let’s just say, my sister wasn’t impressed when she found her books all written on. It was years later when I fell ill with a horrible cold that I pulled out my laptop out and decided to type up some of my ideas. I haven’t been able to stop.

What inspired you to write your first book and what was it?
I’ve always had an interest in the paranormal, so it comes as no surprise my first story revolved around a girl who could control the elements. She found herself in a parallel universe battling terrifying creatures demanding her death. While that story is my first and will remain in my bottom drawer, I’ve never looked back from creating my own supernatural worlds.

Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Definitely all made up. I have a wild imagination that refuses to behave

Out of all the characters in your book, who is your favorite to write? There’s always a fan favorite to read about but sometimes it’s the side characters that are the most fun 

Such a hard question as all my characters hold such a dear place in my heart. I think it’s easier to answer if based on each book. So in Cloaked in Secrecy, it really is Enre as he’s been in my head since Cloaked in Fur, demanding I tell his tale.

How did you come up with the lead character(s)?
You know, I truly don’t know the exact formula. I tend to start with someone wanting something but they can’t have it for some reason. Then as the world start to form in my mind, the character’s personality starts to come alive. It’s a process that completely takes form in my mind. New stories always brew in my head for a few months before I put anything down on paper.

Is your book part of a series, and if so, how many will there be?
Yes, it is part of my Wulfkin Legacy series.

What are you working on now?

I’m working on three books right now.

  1. Cloaked in Christmas – this will be a short, fun story with Christmas themes
  2. Book 2 in a brand new demonic paranormal series I hope to share with everyone very soon
  3. Plotting a new series with book one scheduled to release later this year. I’m trying something new here with fairies and a bunch of new paranormal creatures I’ve created.
How do you chose when/which characters die in your books?
I always know who will die before I start writing the book. I’m a massive plotter and need to know what’s coming before I can write, but choosing who will die is always a hard decision. In truth, I never want to kill any of my characters, but it happens.

We all love Supernatural, so which Winchester brother is for you?
Dean without a doubt. He’s candy on a stick.
