My Review

I totally enjoyed this story, even though I have not read the first two. I've been wanting to for a long time, but when I had the opportunity, I jumped on reading this one. And boy oh boy, I am fascinated. This series is awesome, if only because this book is great!! It's dark, and yet full of hope and light. It's got a little bit of everything. And the main characters, as well as the side characters, they make the story amazing.

Easton, well, he's the beautiful broken bad boy. He wants no love, or feelings, or to do anything other than his job. He works with the demons, he brings the bad souls to them. He knows all the bad things that happen down there because he's been there, many times, and even been their victim before. I wanted to hug him, and slap him, and drool on him all at the same time. And the cute little angel got under his skin, is was just great. So, when a boo boo makes Easton take that cute little angel into the main parts of hell to rectify their mistake, he learns that he's still willing to die for others, he has feelings no matter what he tells himself, and he can fall in love and be loved in return. He made me cry, then cheer like a school girl :) Oh and he's really not the bad boy, he just does the bad things to keep things in order, so he's a good guy just hiding it really well.

So we meet Gwen, she's the angel of hope and joy. She gives people joy to find their way from bad things. She's also the daughter of the big guy upstairs who's in charge of all souls and where they end up. She is Easton's Ying to his Yang. And she's just so good. She wants more than just being an angel of joy. She loves bringing joy to the humans but she wants to feel that joy herself. I loved the relationship that Gwen and Easton built. Well, it was more along the lines of a love/hate relationship until halfway through LOL And they really do work well together. But Gwen won't back down, and Easton is willing to sacrifice everything for her, so it proves for a crazy adventure.

I absolutely love the writing. I am so impressed with how easily I read this story without any problems from not having read the others previously. And I just happened to love the plot. I loved that it was dark and gritty, but full of hope. A candle lit in a vast darkness. It was mostly in hell, so there's some horror feel to it without being a horror story. It has an amazing feel and atmosphere to it. I promise I will be getting books one and two asap now :) with that said, I really do hope there's more to come, because this is a magnificent world to be in. 5 PAWS!!!

About the Author
Tara A. Fuller

Tara Fuller writes novels. Some about grim reapers. Some about witches. All of course are delightfully full of teen angst and kissing. Tara grew up in a one stop light town in Oklahoma where once upon a time she stayed up with a flash light reading RL Stine novels and only dreamed of becoming a writer. She has a slight obsession with music and a shameless addiction for zombie fiction, Mystery Science Theater, and black and white mochas. Tara no longer lives in a one stop light town. Now she lives with her family in a slightly larger town in North Carolina where they have at least three stoplights.

Book & Author details:

Deceived by L.A. Starkey
(Soul Keeper Series #1)
Publication date: August 28th 2014
Genres: Paranormal, Young Adult

Synopsis:
They say a soul is the immaterial essence, the animating principle, the actuating cause of an individual life.

But what if you had to share yours with the one person you hated the most?

The soul mate principle states that for every one soul there is another that will recognize its match, hence creating the perfect union.

What if your choices had eternal ramification?

Deceived, the debut novel in the Soul Keeper Series, is a modern day love story about the implications of having more than one soul mate, and having to choose between the two of them. My Review

I don't know what I expected when I signed up for this blog tour. I heard this was a cool series but I didn't know anything except what was in the blurb. Well, let me tell you I think I'm hooked, I am dying to know what's gunna happen, and yes I have totally picked a team and I will be devastated if something happens to him LOL Yes, it's a YA story, but boy is it serious, so don't think you won't enjoy it if you aren't an adult. And the whole Greek Pantheon, well I love and hate most of them. I have decided Poseidon, Themis, Persephone, a few Titans I won't name, and the lovely Fates are the only good ones. Zeus, Aphrodite, several others, hot damn, they are some spiteful kids. The writing is fantastic and that alone should have you jumping for this book. The plot of this story is one that still blows my mind a little bit so I am still in shock and I STILL don't know how it's gunna turn out. I know, I've read the first two books. So let's talk characters.

Sam is a girl who was adopted by a nice family after spending her life in an orphanage. She still has her best friend from the orphanage, who was adopted by a different family, but they are like sisters. But she won't let anyone close. She knows that if her own mom could abandon her, then everyone else is just going to leave her too. If she doesn't let them get close, they can't hurt her. And that's a whole lot harder than it seems. And some strange things happen, like she has these vivid dreams that leave her feeling things she doesn't understand because she can't remember her dreams or who were with her in them. And just when she's getting a steady stream, her life is devastatingly changed, and I understand her feelings. She lost the one person she always relied on. And then two gorgeous young men appear and she is trying to unravel her whole life worth of mysteries while trying to not fall in love with not one, but two, who seem to be twin brothers, and not think of the best friend she lost.

I won't talk about the boys, because I think you need to read the story and pick your own team. You're going to learn that both have good and bad sides. You're going to learn that they feel the same, just different, and you're going to learn WHY that is. :) So, yes, I have a team, and I am rooting for him, because he's awesome. And no, I will not say who. LOL

The mysteries and plot surrounding this damn prophecy, I wanna slap everyone. Seriously, you can't talk about it, you can't tell anyone, you can't even give knowledge to the one it's about. How ridiculous. AND it's all over a really stupid fight that Zeus is just too damn jealous and stubborn to admit he's wrong. WEH. The thought process behind this is crazy, but I can't help it, I am sooo hooked, because I NEED to know what's gunna happen! AND let me warn you- A BIG WARNING. If you get book one, just get book two, because you are going to scream with the cliff hanger and you can't get your hands on book two asap. Like I did. And I had book two, but I still said some curse words LOL. I know a lot of people don't like cliff hangers. I say they kill me but I know why it's done :) Anyways, I am saying get this one, it's awesome. 5 PAWS!!

Destroyed (Soul Keeper Series #2)

Destroyed by L.A. Starkey
(Soul Keeper Series #2)
Publication date: November 15, 2014
Genres: Paranormal, Young Adult

From the second book in the Soul Keeper Series…

Now I lay me down to sleep,
Whom shall I trust my soul to keep?
If I should die before I wake,
I leave to fate my soul to take.

The seal has been broken and the Soul Keeper Prophecy set in motion. Marcus and Nicolas are battling for the heart of one woman, Pandora’s only daughter; however, not everyone is playing by the rules. With interference from both sides of the lines and too many deities with hidden agendas, the trio must take matters into their own hands and look for another ending, one that removes control from fate.

Can they find the missing page from the prophecy that has the ability to change everything?

Will the new stranger they’ve been given as a guide assist or mislead them?

Will Samantha make a decision on who it is that she truly loves, saving one and destroying the other?

What if her choice is no choice at all?

My Review

So we have a continuation, finally of the ending at book one. Yes, we finally know what happens from book one, only to be DESTROYED at the end of this one. HAHAHA Yes I am warning you at the beginning that there's a crazy seriously devastating cliff hanger at the end of this one too. And I am sad because now as I wait for book three to come out, it's the end. This is not a long series but a trilogy. So low and behold, we're ALL gunna know what's to happen to Sam, Marcus, and Nicolas. And I am still on pins and needles to know how it's gunna play out. Devastated, you hear me. I want my team to win, but NOW, there's a little twist, if my guys wins, the guy I DON'T want to win will. yes I know that's confusing, but you see, we are finally learning what the prophecy means and how it happened. How it affects these three teenagers. Well, Sam is a teen for real LOL. And who had their hands in who's pockets. And who is just a mean old man. :) Yes, I know, I am calling the powerful Gods meanies, but they are. And all of them surrounding each other need to get a damn life instead of messing with others who can't control things.

But Sam is also learning about the prophecy, and she is figuring things out, no she isn't crazy, she is somehow connected, and she's a powerful person, she just didn't realize how crazy powerful. And she's learning who her parents are. WOAH!!! I think I peed my pants when I found out about her mommy, and JUST WAIT til you catch on who her daddy is. Oh Yeah, it's gunna get seriously crazy! Like, I wanna chew every pencil in sight waiting, since my nails are already chewed. :) And Sam is finally getting to spend time with Nic and Marc and figuring out who and what they are. I loved their uncles having a bigger part in this one, and that you get to see all of the "behind the scenes" players, like who exactly started the war, the prophecy, the guardians, and how they are all intertwined. Greek mythology can make me crazy LOL. I don't know who she is going to chose, or how this new little "exit" is going to play out, and now with everything is Sam will even be able to stay alive and save herself. I don't know how to say this, but I seriously need book three. I have so many things I want to say but I know they would ruin something with spoilers, so with that, I say just get the start of this series, because it's pretty darn awesome :) 5 PAWs

Descent (Soul Keeper Series, #3)

Descent by L.A. Starkey
(Soul Keeper Series #3)
Publication date: Coming January 2015
Genres: Paranormal, Young Adult

From the final book in the Soul Keeper Series…

The path of truth lies hidden deep,
To find the light the climb is steep.
But in despair resolve is sound,
What once was lost will now be found.

All is lost and the prophecy seems null and void. Samantha is dead to the living world, and Marcus and Nicolas completely destroyed, but things aren’t always as they seem. To save the one they love, the boys will have to traverse the Descent, a darkness that all will enter and few will ever leave. The interference of gods and goddesses on the chessboard of blood has left the door open for a new player to enter the scene, and she holds the most powerful gift of all—sacrificial love.

Will the exit clause be invoked, dissolving of the chain that binds the trio together?

Will the Descent be the final setting for their love story or will they rise again?

As the curtain draws closed on this tale of old, who will rise and who will fall?

And what if their choice is no choice at all?

I can't wait to get my hands on this one!! I am dying to know how it all ends :)
