The Donor Review with Giveaway!!

Full Donor Novella Cover Final
Final Full Wrap of The Donor
Synopsis:
Casey Williams and her family are poor. Her parents work non-stop and so does she, just so they can keep the trailer roof from leaking. They’re getting by fine enough when the headaches start. Then there’s the nosebleeds. And the inevitable doctor’s bills. Fortunately for Casey, there’s MyTrueMatch.com: an exclusive, quick, and almost easy way to pay it all back before her parents even have to know. All she has to do is give a man she’s never met whatever he wants from her body.

time in hand
Well this one is not something I expected, or ever read anything like it. Let me see if I can explain it without ruining it. What would you do if you found out you were dying and very soon? Well, Casey is going to use her tom left to help her struggling family. She finds out about this online site where you can be a donor. Donor can mean many things but I won't tell you because my mind was spinning with options. But it's done wonderfully. Casey is eighteen and she can't afford college because her family is barely making it. But they are loving and she freely gives her time to make money to help support them. She is a beautiful character. With all of her illness issues she travels far to meet a man who will pay her to donate. Turns out he's lovely and has his own struggles. But she's selfless even if she thinks she's selfish. Jonah gets this. And so their very unique relationship begins. There's a cool way that the story unfolds. It goes from present to past. There's little flashbacks that continually tell you more if the story without throwing info dumps in. And I'm also human warn you that this is a hard topic and very realistic. It's heart wrenching and heart warming all at the same time. But you know, I didn't cry until I read the afterthought of the author. I will say to ms Nikki, I'm so sorry and at the same time thank you for giving me a glimpse into your real life. This is a very real, sweet, tear jerking story with a little supernatural on the side. I loved it. I'm hoping Ms Nikki will continue with where she left off. It may not lead to a happily ever after but I'd want it just the same. 5 PAWS!!

My Review
Let me talk about how much I love this series! Its an amazing adventure but its also heartfelt and fantastically well written. I seriously fell hard for the first book but with the continuation I feel like this is gunna be one of the best series ever. The depths of the characters are gunna sick you right in and tug on your heart. So we left off with devastation in the first book. We learner that Andi isn't coming home and the monsters aren't all monsters. And now Amelia is left with the dead body of her husband; a burning rage that her sister murdered him; and shes pregnant. I seriously disliked Amelia until the half way mark. Oh I felt sorry for her, but she is so damnably whimsy and petulant and ridiculous in her stupid. Lol I know I'm being harsh. But her change and maturity is what made me live her so much more in the end. I wanted to tell her bow stupid she sounded. She wanted to be treated as a woman, and adult, but every single thing she did and said was a bratty, spoiler, child. She blindly follows anyone who flatters her when they could possibly get her killed. Its not until the threat of losing her child that she starts growing up. It freaking took forever lol not really but I wanted to shout at her. And then I just wanted to hug her and tell her how proud she made me. She struggled and fumbled but finally picked herself up. She is one amazing character because I almost never change my mind. If I don't like you I never do. :) Ok secondary characters, amazing as always. I wanted more Andi bug this is amelias story. I love the oldest sister and I cant wait for hers. Andi's friend Dafne is cool as ever. And we meet the White Monk. Its his name and I will not talk about him in fear of spoilers. Bug hes awesome and I love him! And there's new bad guys. The stupid king needs to die but now there's another king in play and hes not so nice either. I think he should die too. Lol yeah I'm a little violent. Lol And the plot, not just to find the truth of Hugh's death but to take control of the magic is a whirlwind of suspense. I loved it. I will now try to wait as patiently as I can for book 3! That just means I'll stalk more lol but seriously the world building is fantastic and I cant wait for more! 5 MAGICAL PAWS!!

Highland Moon Rising spotlight & giveaway!!

Highland Moon Rising (Cry Wolf, #4)
Highland Moon Rising (Cry Wolf, Book 4)
Sarah Mäkelä

Genre: New Adult Shifter Romance
Publisher: Kissa Press LLC
Date of Publication: October 17, 2014

Book Description:

A kitten in a werewolves’ lair…

A Highland reunion...
After months of trying to rescue her werewolf half-brother Colin who was abducted by evil research scientists, wereleopard Caitlyn has come home to Scotland to console her sibling. But her problems are far from over...

Red in tooth and claw...
Still heady and wanton from the power of last night’s full moon, Caitlyn is in mortal danger. Werewolves have little respect for other shifters, and she’s trapped and caged at the Scottish Pack's HQ and at the mercy of Alistair—the vicious wolf who fathered Colin and abused her mother, and who’s capable of murder…

The sweet smell of arousal...
Her scent can save her, or kill her. Dougal, the Pack’s new Alpha, hungers to strip her naked and satiate his fiery lunar lust. But he also senses this beautiful feline with clover-green eyes that shine through the bars of her prison with burning desire is nearing the end of her strength. Will he deny his dominance, and the moon’s lingering power, to be the protector she needs?

Excerpt:

Hinges squeaked on a door that hadn’t seen use in several months. Months I’d spent struggling to rescue my younger brother. My attempts had been in vain. Not only had the scientists who’d captured him discovered my existence and fervently chased me, but no matter what I’d tried, their research facility had been nearly impenetrable for a lone wereleopard. The tall fences and heavy-duty searchlights would have been challenge enough, but the plentiful armed guards that crisscrossed the compound had made it impossible to proceed.
Fortunately, the werewolf Pack he’d transferred to had broken him—and the other shifters—free with their numbers and brute strength. However, I could only wonder how Colin had fared after all he’d been through. From the brief phone call we’d shared yesterday, I barely recognized him. He didn’t sound at all like the easygoing guy I’d known. He was weary and solemn.
But that was understandable. Whatever had been done had changed him and his beast.
With each minute, hour, day, I neared the brink of complete exhaustion. Sooner than later, I needed to rest up. The scientists had stayed so close on my tail for so long that I remained vigilant at all times. It was so hard to let my guard down.
While I was in Scotland to support Colin, I craved the comfort of home and the ability to run in my feline form without having to keep constant watch over my shoulder. Och, to feel the lush grass and dried leaves beneath my padded feet and to smell the forest air mixing and lingering with the soft undertones of early morning rain. My beast stretched lazily inside my chest, eager to unsheathe her claws and return to nature. But there was no luxury for that yet.
Colin would be arriving back any day now, and I wanted to clean the place up before his return. His absence had made the house a dusty mess. However, this provided me with a temporary place to stay, since I’d given up my flat and the majority of my belongings shortly after he’d gone missing.
Now that he was safe, I looked forward to rebuilding my life and getting back into a comfortable routine.
Tossing my duffel bag on the floor, I took a deep breath, trying to push aside the stress weighing on me. My brother’s scent still lingered in the air after all this time. However, I wasn’t alone. Another musky smell—of a wild beast—urged me deeper into the apartment, calling to me from just out of reach.
As far as I knew, Colin wasn’t expecting company.
A loose floorboard groaned behind me. I spun around, slinging my fist at the intruder as instinct took over. But the hulking man looming over me easily dodged my punch and landed a hard kick to my outer thigh. I stumbled into the living room’s leather armchair but jerked back to my feet, quickly regaining my balance. My cat-like reflexes suffered from being so bone-weary, but I needed to persevere.
Sucking in a deep breath, I scented my attacker’s lupine odor and my blood chilled. Shite.
Werewolves weren’t exactly fans of other shifters, especially felines. The dog and cat politics between us were as hairy as our domestic counterparts’ at times.
“What are you doing here, kitty?” The man snarled the words, sounding every bit the hungry wolf. Dark brown hair swept across his forehead, and he brushed it back with the swipe of his meaty hand. He stalked closer, invading my personal space. I didn’t dare to move away and show weakness.
Questions raced through my head. Who was he? Should I answer him? Something about him seemed familiar, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Keep the secret safe.
He slid his blue-eyed gaze down my body, pointedly lingering on my curves. His momentary distraction was exactly what I needed to attack.
I leapt into the air, slamming both feet against his chest to knock him down in a fierce hit. My plan nearly succeeded—even if his massive chest was as solid as a brick wall—but he grabbed my ankle at the last minute, dragging me down with him. I twisted, struggling to land on my feet. Unlike my feline counterpart, I wasn’t that agile. Not with a werewolf holding onto me.
Air burst from my lungs as I smacked the floor with bone-rattling force. I gasped, struggling for each breath after the hard blow. A gentle gust of wind made the open front door creak a little. My gaze rose to the lush green outdoors. If I could just make it there, then I could outrun this wolf. Leopards were quicker, so I’d be safe from him.
Shame forced its way inside my chest. My life had become one giant race. Constantly running from one problem to another. That wasn’t me. The fact this wolf had even managed to gain an advantage over me showed just how desperately I needed to rest. If I were at the top of my game, he would be running from me.

Kate Triumph Spotlight and Giveaway!

Kate Triumph
_________

Book & Author Details:

Kate Triumph by Shari Arnold
Publication date: October 16th 2014
Genres: Paranormal, Young Adult

Synopsis:
Normal is so overrated. At least that’s what seventeen-year-old Kate Triumph tells herself everyday. But the truth is she lives in constant fear that someone will discover how not normal she really is. With her startling speed and her unusual ability to heal, Kate believes she’s something of a freak.
Then Andrew Shore arrives.
He claims he’s her father, sticks around for a few days and leaves her a plane ticket. “Come to Mercer Island,” he says. “Give me a chance to get to know you.” Soon Kate is floundering in a world of new: new address, new car, new high school and, of course, new father. Not to mention Zack, her intriguing new neighbor, who makes her want to abandon her steadfast rule of never allowing anyone to get too close. But when she discovers someone is trying to kill her, life for Kate gets a bit more complicated. And a lot less normal.

Excerpt:

I’m not used to the wetness of the road, the slick gravel under my feet. I concentrate on the neighborhood around me, memorizing each street sign I pass so I can find my way back to Andrew’s house. But soon the fog moves in, swallowing first the houses and then each and every last street sign. It closes in on me like a cocoon of white and my chest tightens with alarm.
I have no idea where I am. Or how to get home.
I pull my cell phone out of my pocket but it’s dead. I forgot to charge it last night.
I’m cursing my stupidity when just off in the distance I hear it.
Footsteps.
I turn around and wait for a figure to arrive — hopefully someone who might know where Andrew lives — but the footsteps stop.
All I can hear is my breathing and a bird chirping somewhere in the neighborhood.
I take a few more steps and when I hear them echo back I pause again.
Tiny tingles of unease trickle down my back but the fog continues to keep its secrets.
I wait for the footsteps to catch up, still convinced they’re helpful rather than dangerous. They’re moving slowly, almost hesitant, as they close the gap between us.
I have to admit as much as I want to see whoever is out there, the idea of someone breaking out of the fog so close to me kind of freaks me out.
I start walking faster this time, almost a jog, but with each step I take, the footsteps echo back twice. Finally, when our steps are in sync I stop and peer through the fog.
“Hello? Is anyone there?” I call out. I grip my arms around me, suddenly cold.
But no one answers me.
I imagined it. That’s the only explanation. I shake it off and start running again, my pace much slower than normal. Then I stop. Nothing. I take four more steps. Silence. A couple more. More silence.
I take a deep breath and relax. This was a stupid idea, running in fog. Next time I’ll know better.
Something sharp is poking my foot from inside my shoe and when I bend down to investigate I find a small white pebble has wedged itself between my shoe and sock. It only takes a second to dig it out and toss it into the road, but when I straighten up I hear it again.
Footsteps. Slow at first and then they quicken to a run.
Are these footsteps new? Or are they the same ones from before? I decide to wait it out before I start moving again.
A twig snaps directly behind me and then the footsteps stop.
I spin around. Nothing. No face, no motion in the fog.
I open my mouth to call out once more but something tells me to stay silent.

A low guttural laugh breaks through the fog directly behind my right ear and my heart stops altogether.

Guest Post #1:

Whether I’m reading YA or women’s fiction I have to admit, I love a little romance in my story. And when it comes to the best male characters I’ve read I definitely have a list.

Patch
If you are in need of a rebellious fallen angel than go pick up Becca Fitzpatrick’s Hush, Hush series. The strong, dark, and not-so-silent angel type really works for him.

St. Clair
Oh, boy. St. Clair is probably one of my favorite characters ever! There is something so genuine and real about him that after reading Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins I completely believed he was someone I knew in real life. Or wanted to know.

Robin Hood
I am a huge fan of Robin Hood EVERYTHING. But A.C. Gaughen’s Scarlet series is for reals. There is no better Robin Hood out there. Like, seriously. If I ever discover that the real Robin Hood was anything other than how she wrote him I will be VERY disappointed.

Noah
So, yeah. Michelle Hodkin’s Mara Dyer Trilogy is insane, but in a good way. And her Noah is breathtaking. He is intriguing, intense and mysterious. OH! And also very loyal. Need I say more?

Edward
Yeah, yeah, I know. But I’m talking about the Edward from the book not the movie. The movie Edward wasn’t nearly as good as the book Edward. Sorry, guys. But that’s my opinion. And if I’m being completely honest I will always love Twilight’s Edward the best. Not the Edward from the other three books that followed. Just the first one.

Synopsis

My name is Kara Radcliff and I’m a witch. Not the pointy hat and black cat kind that you see on Halloween, but a true spell casting, sneaker wearing, party loving, kick-ass witch. Until two weeks ago, that is all I was and all I ever wanted to be. My expectations in life didn’t soar higher than graduating college and finding a decent job that would help pay off my mounting student loans. All of that went out the window when I received the invitation. I've been selected to compete for the chance of a lifetime. If I win, not only will I fulfill the newly vacant spot as an Associate, but I will be leaving my family behind to go live and work alongside the four Rulers of our paranormal community. I will be trusted in helping them keep our kind safe and hidden from the humans and those among us that prefer to cause trouble and mayhem. Every society has hoodlums, our kind just happen to cause more destruction than most. Being an Associate is an honor. The job is dangerous and will require me to go up against Fae, shifters, witches, and vampires that are much more powerful and stronger I could ever hope to be. I love kicking butt and casting spells, but even I have my limits. On top of everything, I seem to have caught the attention of two of the Rulers. Only I could go from having no men in my life to having one too many. Neither man is used to hearing the word, “No”, and although my mind says the word often, my mouth and body keep saying, “Yes”. What is a witch to do? Am I up for this new challenge? Yes. Can I handle the danger? Yes. Will my heart survive the journey? Maybe. This is my screwed up story. This is my crazy life, and this is the just the beginning.

EXCERPT

Gabriel's room.

She paused, peeking through the slightly closed door to the bed within. She had been in there once or twice when Gabriel had a new CD for her to download, or a book he’d recommended she read. He’d moved in a little over a year ago when Jackie and her boyfriend Ian had to get rid of their last roommate, who had almost set the couch on fire when he’d invited his loser friends over to get high. That guy had been crass, sloppy, and late on the rent more than a few times. Gabriel was none of those things. He had a relatively decent job at an employment recruiting firm while he saved up money to play music full time and get his own place. He tried to keep his messes inside his space, though he wasn't usually around much to make any. And if he did smoke, he had yet to set anything on fire.

He put all the guys she dated to shame and served as the image she used to relieve sexual tension more times than she could count. In her mind he was tender and sweet, touching her skin reverently, laying gentle kisses all over her body. He would take his time making her wet, unlike the last asshole she had gone out with who thought a few licks and a dry finger was all that was required before he could stick it in. Gabriel would know better, would ask her if she was ready and then ease himself in carefully. He would tell her he had been waiting so long for this moment as he stroked her into a frenzy, making her come over and over again with the power of his strong body and gentle words.

Just the thought of it made her body shiver, and before she knew it she was pushing open the door and stepping inside his personal space. Her body hummed just thinking about how he slept in that bed, the sheets rumpled and unmade from when he woke earlier that morning. She thought of the glimpse she caught of him when he came out of the shower. Those tattoos stood out red and black against the sides of his v-shaped torso, the towel riding low on his narrow hips.

Thank goodness he had been oblivious to the pair of brown eyes surveying him from over the edge of the couch.

Now she was standing where he had been when he closed that door. She let her hand run over the dresser as she walked quietly inside, her fingers tapping over his brush, his comb, the deodorant he used. She picked up the bottle of cologne he used and opened it, breathing in the intoxicating scent.

She put the cap back on, careful to place the bottle back where it belonged, and surveyed the rest of the room. Beside the dresser was a pretty nice entertainment center, and on the other side of that was his bookshelf. She had nearly creamed her panties when she found out it wasn't just for show, that he did in fact read when he got the chance, and that they shared similar taste in books. A ridiculously huge rack of CDs and his propped up guitar filled the far corner of the room. The walls were lined with posters of his favorite musicians, as well as mementos from shows he and his band played.

Below those posters was the bed, which was simple. It had metal rungs for the headboard with white sheets and a steel grey comforter. She could still see the indent of his body in the mattress, the curve in the center of the pillow where he rested his head each night. On either side of the bed were small tables with a few drawers each, where pictures of his family and friends rested. She was tempted to open up those drawers and see what he kept in them, but she resisted. She didn't intend to go snooping through his things. All she wanted to do was be in his space, to see the side of him she wasn't usually allowed to see, at least not for long periods of time. Instead she swept her hands over the sheets, letting her legs brush against them where they drooped to the floor.

Nicole wondered as she brought her knee up onto the bed what it must be like to be a girl in this bed with him. Did he sleep with a lot of girls? She knew of at least one girl when he first moved in, his ex-girlfriend Marta. At the time she asked herself what the fuck kind of name was Marta? In this case, it was the type of name a gorgeous half-Indian, half-Spanish girl would have, the kind with long dark hair, golden, almond-shaped eyes and a tall, lithe frame with curves in the all the right places. Her skin was rich toffee compared to Nicole's milk chocolate with red undertones, her height and build making Nicole feel like an overly curvy dwarf, even if she was average in terms of height, and her curves were welcomed by plenty.

What kind of girl did he sleep with now that his ex, Marta, was out of the picture? Nicole only got to visit her sister occasionally during breaks from school, so she never got to see exactly what kind of girl besides Marta could make Gabriel take a second look.

She brought her other knee onto the bed. Resting on all fours, she pretended she was that girl, the one that he wanted. What would it be like to have him lying in this bed next to her, his hips barely covered by these sheets? She crawled closer to the center of the bed, smiling seductively, pretending she was crawling toward a deliciously naked Gabriel instead of the cold indent of his body, when her knee landed hard on something tucked under the sheets. The sound of the TV turning on startled her, as did the image that popped up on the screen. Her mouth dropped, her eyes widened…
